WEEKEND FUN: Longfellow’s Birthday, WHS Musical, Creative Chats, Tequila Tasting & Concert

This weekend I’ve decided to only include activities that are free, and what interesting ones there are! On Friday morning, should you not be working, there is a community chat at the Mosesian Center for creative people of all types this week featuring a singer/songwriter. Catch the Watertown High School Musical this weekend. Friday evening, there is a very unique tasting at Gordon’s Fine Wine. Now is your chance to see what Chica Chida Peanut Butter Agave Spirit tastes like.

WEEKEND FUN: Art Exhibit, Drop in at Hatch, Margaritas, Greek Food & Dance, Yoga

“Is the Price Right” by Juliana Borgiani Geiger is one of the pieces at the Mosesian Center for the Arts. Brrrrr. It has been a chilly February. My recommendations for this week are all indoors, though getting out for a brisk walk in the sun is wonderful as well. On Friday, how about catching the last day of an art show at the Mosesian, one that focuses on the ecology of our planet.

Weekend Fun: Valentine Dinners, Owls, Gardening & Magic

It’s Valentine’s Day on Friday, so if you feel like celebrating with your sweetie by going out for a special multi-course meal, I have found three in Watertown that look quite wonderful, Red Lentil, Ravello and Cha Yen (get your reservations!). Saturday morning, whether single or coupled, there is a workshop at Watertown Center for the Healing Arts on how to improve communication with a partner or a date. Perhaps it would come in handy if you had any trouble the night before.

If you would just as soon forget that it’s a day to celebrate Cupid, you might want to head over to Mt. Auburn Cemetery Saturday for a show about owls. I went last year and it’s fascinating and educational for all ages. There are three starting times.

WEEKEND FUN: Rock Climbing, Pole Flying, Hockey Cancer Fundraiser, Kid’s Concert & More

What a range of activities Watertown is offering this weekend! Yes, it’s Super Bowl weekend, but there’s so much more. There’s a great mix of opportunities to get out and be physically active, a rock climbing competition on Friday evening and adult and child pole flying on Sunday morning. Take in a hockey cancer benefit presented by the Boston Gold Kings on Saturday evening. If you’d like to stretch your vocal chords a little bit, head to the library on Saturday morning with your young child or grandchild for a singalong with Matt Heaton. A local gallery will hold a reception for its new show featuring works inspired by Maine and New Mexico.

WEEKEND FUN: Lantern Parade, Unity Breakfast, Gore Family History, Mixed Martial Arts

Gore PlaceFind out about Growing Up in the Gore Family during the event at Gore Place on Sunday. This is a weekend packed with appealing fun activities in town. To start, should you not be working on Friday morning, I suggest starting your weekend’s activities with a creative chat at the Mosesian Center for the Arts. Maybe you will be motivated to use some of your new arts and crafts supplies from last weekend’s swap shop afterwards. Then you will definitely want to head out on Saturday afternoon to watch the 1st annual River Lantern Parade.

WEEKEND FUN: Lantern Making, Armenian Christmas Dance, La Befana, Open Gym

Feeling crafty? This coming weekend is going to start with a workshop for making lanterns at the Hatch Maker Space on Saturday. (Are you aware of the River of Light Festival coming up on the 18th?)

After making a beautiful lantern, walk over to the library for the craft swap in the afternoon. Maybe you’ve been inspired to be more creative and need some supplies. Saturday evening brings a delicious dinner and dance in celebration of Armenian Christmas at St.

WEEKEND FUN: Wordle Art, Crafternoon, Patriots Game Watch & Free Concert

The new year is here, for some bringing hope, perhaps of a new grandchild or a serious commitment to the keto diet, for others it comes with much trepidation, of those same things. In any case, there are some fun things to do this weekend in town. After a day of rest and then only a couple of workdays, let’s all get back out there on the weekend and enjoy life’s local pleasures. The Armenian Museum of Art is open and free this weekend. I love the current Tsitoghdzyan show.

Weekend Fun: Art Sales, Children’s Theatre, Wine Tasting, D&D and More

Thanksgiving is not quite here, but this Saturday holiday sales are starting, and they look quite interesting. Saturday morning, you can indulge in the pleasures of beautiful pottery at the Indigo Fire Pottery sale. That afternoon, a show of local artisans is being hosted at Get Lively, and it also features Provincetown artist Joan Pereira. That looks well worth checking out. When the art show ends, there’s a free Croation wine tasting at Gordon’s Fine Wines and Liquors.
