Watertown’s State Semifinal Basketball Game Postponed by Snow

The MIAA has postponed Watertown High School’s state semifinal basketball game scheduled for Tuesday due to the snow storm. 

The Boston area could get 12 inches of snow or more. The game had been scheduled to be at the TD Garden at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders will take on Boston’s Jeremiah Burke in the semifinal. The game has been moved to Burlington High School at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March. 14, according to WHS Athletic Director Michael Lahiff.

Watertown Sprinter Mange Camara Caps Historic Indoor Season at Nationals

Watertown High School’s Mange Camara wrapped up an amazing indoor track season by competing against the top high school runners from across America over on Saturday.The junior competed in the New Balance Indoor Nationals at The Armory in New York City. He ran the 200 meters in 22.10 seconds, which was the 22nd fastest time at the meet and was the best time for Massachusetts runners and runners from New England. See the race video by clicking here (Camara is in the far left lane). Last week, Camara got second place in the 300 meters at the New England Indoor Championship at Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center. He ran a 34.87, which was less than .2 seconds off his best time, which he set when he won the event at the MIAA Div. 5 meet on Feb. 15.

Watertown Runner Shows He can Compete With the Best in Massachusetts

Watertown junior sprinter Mange Camara ran against the best high school competition Saturday in the All-State Meet and showed he was among the elite. In the 55-meter dash Camara got to the finals at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center. He ran a 6.65, which got him eight place. He was a little off his personal best and school record time of 6.58, last week at the Div. 5 Meet.
