Boston Restaurant Opening Second Location in Watertown

Boylston Properties and Wilder proudly announced today that they’ve leased 3,000 square feet at Watertown’s Arsenal Yards to local celebrity chef and restaurateur, Jason Santos. Following the success of Buttermilk & Bourbon in Boston’s Back Bay, the nationally-recognized chef will open his second location of the popular restaurant in the new neighborhood in 2021, bringing a taste of Southern hospitality to Watertown. The New Orleans’ inspired restaurant will be an exciting addition to the eclectic mix of offerings at Arsenal Yards, which will offer a true neighborhood experience with its more than one million square feet of retail shops, residential apartments, life science space, and a 146-room hotel when construction is completed in Fall 2021.

New Chinese Restaurant Opens in Watertown

Number 1 Taste opened on in Watertown recently, and boast 30 years of experience. The Chinese restaurant opened at 39 Galen Street. The restaurant also has locations in Belmont, Arlington and Melrose. The Number 1 Taste Watertown website says:

Frank Pepe Pizzeria Opens Watertown Location

Pizza lovers can now order a coal-fired pie from Frank Pepe Pizzeria, which recently opened at Arsenal Yards. The opening of the Neapolitan pizza restaurant was announced by Arsenal Yards on Twitter this week. The restaurant started in New Haven, Conn., and specialty pizzas include the original tomato pie and white clam pizza. Salads are also available. Long-Time Watertown Square Restaurant Closing This Week

The DPW discovered a culvert deep under Watertown Square that was not on any plans. An institution in Watertown Square for more than three decades will close its doors this week. Stellina Restaurant, at 47 Main St., announced that it will serve its last dinner service. “After 34 years in Watertown, Stellina will close after Saturday August 22. Please join us for our last week,” the restaurant’s website announced.

Casual Mediterranean Eatery Opening at Arsenal Yards

Garbanzo is opening at Watertown’s Arsenal Yards. The following announcement was provided by Arsenal Yards:

Watertown Restaurant Holding Grand Opening at Arsenal Yards

Staff at City Works Eatery & Pour House are ready to welcome diners at the Watertown location. The following announcement was provided by Bottleneck Management:

After the COVID-19 pandemic stalled its opening to the public, Bottleneck Management announces the official grand opening of City Works Eatery & Pour House at 91 Arsenal Yards Blvd. on Wednesday, July 22 at 4 p.m.

City Works was scheduled to open its doors in Watertown on March 13 after its First Draft soft opening event raised $4,338 for the Greater Boston Food Bank. Four months past its original opening date, City Works in Arsenal Yards remains a vibrant and energetic restaurant with a focus on classic American food and an expansive beer and beverage list. With a spacious interior (8,429 square feet), three 110” HDTVs and 12 65” HDTVs, and outdoor patio (1,172 square feet) with socially distanced tables, semi-private dining areas, and over 90 craft beer handles and eight wines on draft, City Works offers something for everyone this summer. “It’s so exciting to be able to officially open our doors, bring our employees back on, and begin serving our guests in Watertown, safely and in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and our local authorities,” says Angela Zoiss, Vice President of Marketing for Bottleneck Management.

Four More Watertown Restaurants Approved for Outdoor Dining

Deluxe Town Diner was one of several Watertown restaurants recently approved to have outdoor seating. Four Watertown restaurants have been allowed to add outdoor dining this week, bringing the number up to 15 that have received the special permission from the Town to expand capacity during the COVID-19 restrictions. The special outdoor seating permission is approved by Town Manager Michael Driscoll, who included the list of restaurants in his most recent COVID-19 Update (click here to view it). Two are located near Watertown Square, one south of the Charles River and one is on the Westside. Halfway Cafe, west of Watertown Square on Main Street has been given permission.
