Man Leads Watertown Police on Chase

On Aug. 28 at 6:28 p.m., a Watertown Police officer spotted a suspicious car parked in front of a home on Nichols Avenue near Melendy Avenue. The officer approached the car and identified himself a police officer. “The man took off in his car at a high rate of speed,” Grady said. “He lead police on a short chase.”

Watertown Police Catch Man Behind Home Break Ins

Watertown Police arrested a man who allegedly broke into three homes over the past couple weeks. The man, identified as Michael Mancuso, is suspected of breaking into a home on Standish Road and stole a guitar, and was spotted by a York Avenue resident in his living room (click here to see more details). On Aug. 28 at 1:51 a.m. the man was spotted walking up to the back door of a home on Bellevue Road, said Watertown Sgt. Thomas Grady.

Police Investigating Pair of Home Break Ins in Watertown

A pair of home break ins – including one where a homeowner woke to find a man in his living room – may be linked, according to Watertown Police. Both of the incidents took place in the neighborhood near the Lowell School. On Aug. 18 at 9:29 a.m. a Standish Road resident reported an attempted breaking and entering to his home, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. “The resident found a rear sliding door and screen door opened and pry marks on a basement door,” Lawn said.

Road Rage Incident Escalates Until Police Arrest Two Men

A road rage incident that began in Waltham ended when multiple men got out of their cars in Watertown Square and began threatening each other in front of police officers. Two groups of men, one in a 1995 Mercedes and the others in a 2010 Honda Accord, got into a disagreement when one car cut off the other on the evening of Aug. 9. An officer patrolling in Watertown Square at around 9 p.m. heard men shouting at each other and saw the two cars. The driver of the Honda Accord,  later identified as Eric Cuesta, got out of his car accompanied by two other men and screamed at another man, said Watertown Police Sgt.
