Police Log: Harasser of Company Vice President ID’d, Man Busted Trying to Scam Store

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrest

Jan. 13, 2:05 p.m.: A man was spotted going through the self-checkout at Home Depot and scanning some items but not the more expensive ones. Store security saw the man picking up two items and scanning only the cheaper one and then put both into the shopping bag. The cheaper item was a 15-amp three-way switch worth $3.48, but he did not scan the 20-amp circuit breaker, which cost $49.97.

Man Arrested After Attacking Co-Worker, Threatened to Use Pipe & Knife

A Waltham man faces multiple charges after attacking a co-worker at Russo’s following an argument. A fight started at Russo’s when two employees got into an argument. One of the employees, later identified as Dmitry Kosorukov of Waltham, was drinking out of a 5-gallon jug of water and the other asked if he had paid for the water, and wanted to see a receipt, according to Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. Words were exchanged and Kosorukov allegedly threw the jug at the other employee and then hit him in the chest. He then pushed the other employee in the chest.

Watertown Police Increasing Effort to Stop Impaired Drivers Over Holidays

The following announcement was provided by the Watertown Police Department:

The Watertown Police were awarded a grant from the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security’s (EOPSS) Office of Grants and Research (OGR) to increase the number of impaired driving patrols during the holiday season. Watertown Police will join other departments across the state and the State Police in the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over (DSOGPO) enforcement mobilization. “When an impaired driver is behind the wheel, everyone is at risk – passengers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and other motorists sharing the road,” said Chief Michael Lawn of the Watertown Police Department. “These funds will increase the number of impaired driving patrols over the holidays. Regardless of the type or level of impairment, if a driver is operating the vehicle in a dangerous manner, they will be stopped.”

“Arranging for a sober ride home before celebrating should be a part of everyone’s plans this holiday season,” said Jeff Larason, Director of the OGR Highway Safety Division.

More Details on Massage Parlor Sting in Watertown

Last week, the Watertown Police conducted an investigation into illegal activities at massage parlors in town, and made four prostitution arrests at four locations. The sting was broader than the four massage parlors and involved undercover police officers. The investigation was a joint one between the WPD and the FBI’s Boston Division Child Exploitation-Human Trafficking Task Force. Police sent undercover officers into the six massage parlors in a coordinated sting on Friday, Nov. 8, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor.

Four Arrested on Prostitution Charges After Joint WPD/FBI Human Trafficking Sting

Law enforcement made four arrests on prostitution charges at Watertown massage parlors after a sting by the Watertown Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The Watertown Police sent out the following press release:

On Friday, November 8, 2019, the Watertown Police Detective Division assisted by the FBI Boston Division Child Exploitation-Human Trafficking Task Force and members of the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure Investigations conducted an undercover operation of massage parlors in Watertown. The goal of the operation was to identify establishments that do not comply with local, state and federal regulations, as well as to identify potential minor and adult victims of human trafficking. These inspections resulted in the arrest of the following individuals, all on charges related to sexual conduct for a fee:

Worarat Soontronwatee (age 30) of Malden arrested at Season Therapy, 12 Belmont St. Sandy Ferchiou (age 51) of Boston, arrested at Sukhothai, 8 Riverside St.

Police Log: Potential Home Break-in Reported, Several Vehicles Broken Into

Oct. 15, 4:05 p.m.: An officer patrolling on Main Street spotted a white Ford van make an abrupt turn and almost collide with another vehicle. Police pulled the vehicle over and when speaking with the driver officers found he did not have a license. Also, he was driving a vehicle that did not belong to him.

Watertown Man Arrested for Allegedly Dealing Crack Cocaine

A Watertown man faces charges relating to dealing crack cocaine after police served a search warrant on his home, and a second man also faces drug charges. Peter F. Pierre, 72, of Watertown had been under investigation by the Middlesex Drug Task Force and the Watertown Police, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. Authorities obtained a search warrant as a result of the investigation, and it was served on Oct. 17 at 6:05 p.m.

“The search warrant was executed and as a result, several items consistent with narcotic packaging and distribution were found, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency,” O’Connor said. Pierre was arrested on a charge of possession to distribute a Class B substance — crack cocaine, O’Connor said.
