Police Log: Offensive Symbols Found on Road, Man Busted for OUI & Leaving Scene of an Accident

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Nov. 1, 9:45 a.m.: Police were called to Derby Road after a resident observed two swastikas drawn in the middle of the roadway with chalk. One was drawn in green chalk and was about four-feet-by-four-feet, a second was one-foot-by-one-foot. Some Jewish residents live on the street an were very upset by the symbols.

Police Log: Man Who Used Sleight of Hand to Take Money ID’d, This Week’s Incidents

Watertown Police identified a man wanted for stealing $2,400 from Best Buy by using sleight of hand to pocket some cash while paying with the help from across the pond. An arrest warrant has been issued for Nelson Adam, 22, of New York, for the incident that took place on Sept. 26, 2023, according to Watertown Police Sgt. Ken Swift. The WPD put a photo of the man on a network used by law enforcement agencies to share information, and seek assistance.

Aug 8, 12:30 a.m.: An officer patrolling in Watertown Square ran the plates of a grey BMW and discovered the vehicle had a revoked registration. The vehicle was pulled over and the officer confirmed the owner was driving. The man said he had purchased the vehicle from a friend.

Aug. 8, 12:01 a.m.: Officers patrolling in Watertown Square queried the plates of a BMW and discovered the registration was suspended, and the owner’s license was suspended. The vehicle was pulled over and confirmed that the owner was driving. Joshua Rivers, 32, of Watertown was arrested for driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured vehicle, and driving with a suspended registration.

Police Log: Man Wanted on Drug Warrants Nabbed, Several Homes Egged

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Deparment. Arrests

July 18, 11:48 a.m.: An officer patrolling in Watertown Square spotted a vehicle running a red light going from North Beacon Street onto Galen Street. The driver was pulled over and police discovered he was wanted on drug charges. William Reynolds, 43, of Boston, was arrested on the warrant from Dorchester District Court for possession with intent to distribute a Class D drug, and possession to distribute a Class B drug. He was also cited for a red light violation.

July 17, 11:10 a.m.: A set of golf clubs was stolen out of a vehicle parked at an apartment building on Pleasant Street.
