City Officials to Talk About Watertown’s Comprehensive Plan at Business Coalition Event

Officials from City Hall will talk about the process of updating Watertown’s primary planning document, the Comprehensive Plan, during an event hosted by the Watertown Business Coalition. The networking event will be held at City Hall (149 Main St.) in the Council Chambers on Wednesday, May 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The City is updating the Watertown Comprehensive Plan, which was adopted in 2015. The document that lays out the vision for the future development in Watertown and includes economic development, land use, and transportation.

Biotech Companies, Educators Talk About How They Can Collaborate at Life Science Panel

The life science industry has discovered Watertown, with the city becoming home to a growing number of pharmaceutical, medical and other biotech companies. Recently, representatives from a few of these companies joined Watertown educators at a forum hosted by the Watertown Business Coalition. The event took place at the new Hosmer Elementary School on April 27. The groups spoke about how they collaborate, and opportunities for the future.

The event is from 6-8 p.m. at Gordon’s Fine Wines & Liquors in Arsenal Yards, 92 Arsenal Yards Blvd. Sample some whiskey and enjoy snacks provided by Roche Bros. Watertown Business Coalition Celebrates New Chapter, Expanding Mission & Offering Membership

Watertown Business Coalition co-founders Bob Airasian and Doug Orifice speak during the WBC’s Membership Kickoff Event at Not Your Average Joe’s. The Watertown Business Coalition kicked off a new phase of its young life last week during the membership kickoff event at Not Your Average Joe’s. More than 50 people attended the Feb. 17 event, including local business owners, elected officials, and representatives of community organizations. The volunteer-run organization started in late 2019 with a vision of connecting local businesses, but has branched out to advocating for businesses, hosting arts and culture events and fostering ties to the community, said WBC Co-Founder Doug Orifice.

Watertown Business Coalition Hosting Networking, Membership Kickoff Event

The Watertown Business Coalition’s membership kickoff event will be held on Feb. 17 at Not Your Average Joe’s. “This month’s event will give you a chance to re-connect with old friends and meet new connections … and you’ll have an opportunity to learn about our goals and if you choose — become a charter member of the Watertown Business Coalition,” the WBC event announcement said. The group was established in 2019 to create connections in the Watertown business community.
