Here are School Vacation Public Skating Hours at the John A. Ryan Arena located at 1 Paramount Place, Watertown from December 22-January 5, 2025:

Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 2:10PM-3:30PM

Friday, December 27, 2024 from 3:20PM-4:20PM

Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 2:10PM-3:30PM

Monday, December 30, 2024 from 4:00PM-5:30PM

Sunday, January 5, 2025 from 2:10PM-3:30PM

Watertown Youth Hockey Running Programs for Youngsters to Learn to Skate & Learn to Play

Watertown Youth Hockey will run Learn to Skate and Learn to Play programs for youngsters just getting on the ice and those looking to get into the sport. Both programs begin in November and take place at John A. Ryan Arena, 1 Paramount Place, Watertown. Watertown Youth Hockey President Jason Tourville said the beginners classes are key to building the hockey program in town. After numbers dipped several years ago, the program is on the rise in recent years.

Town Closing Library, Senior Center, Rec Dept Until Late March in Response to Coronavirus

In an effort to stop the spread of the Coronavirus, the Watertown Library, the Senior Center will be closed and all Recreation Department activities will be cancelled, Town Manager Michael Driscoll announced Friday afternoon. Town Hall will remain open. Driscoll spoke at a special School Committee meeting held Friday afternoon. This follows Thursday’s announcement that the Watertown Public Schools will be closed through March 27. While the Senior Center will be closed from Friday, March 13 to the end of March for activities and exercise programs, some senior services will continue.

Ice Skate on New Year’s Day, Help the Watertown Food Pantry

Join a Watertown New Year’s Day tradition by skating at John A. Ryan Arena and help the Watertown Food Pantry. The New Year’s Day Family Skate will be from 2-4 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2020. The event is organized by the Venezia family, and donations will be collected to support the Watertown Food Pantry. Skate rentals will be free that day.
