OBIT: Marjorie Swift, 92, St. Pat’s Graduate, Worked at Ark-less Switch Co.

A Funeral Mass for Marjorie E. Swift will be celebrated in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016 at 9 a.m.

Miss Swift was a daughter of the late Andrew & Elizabeth (Tiffany) Swift. She passed away in the Sunrise of Burlington Care, on Tuesday evening at the age of 92. Marjorie was born and resided in Watertown until moving to Burlington a few years ago. She went to Saint Patrick High School, Watertown and retired as an inspector from Ark-less Switch Company, Watertown. She was the dear sister of Richard P. Swift of Burlington and the late John, Raymond, William, Harold, James Swift, Marie Harrington and Dorothy Blouin.

OBIT: Alan Brown, 41, Grad of Waltham High, Florida International Law School

Alan William Brown, age 41, passed peacefully at home with his family on Jan. 18, 2016. He leaves behind his loving father, Richard W. Brown and his loving mother, Denise Beirne Brown. The grandson of Peggy and the late Matthew Beirne of Watertown and the late Richard and Barbara Brown of Wiltshire, England. He is survived by his brothers, Neil R. Brown and his wife Julie, and Phillip B. Brown and his wife Natalia.

OBIT: George Sutherland, 82, Retired Printer, Active in Youth Sports

A Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Belmont-Watertown United Methodist Church for George E. Sutherland. Mr. Sutherland, son of the late George E. and Nellie (White) Sutherland, was born in Watertown and stayed to become a lifelong resident in the Watertown Community. A retired printer, George lived for his family, he was very active in youth sports programs.

George passed away in Brighton on Saturday, Jan. 9 after a period of declining health.

OBIT: Ellen Griffin, 87, Immigrated from Ireland as a Teenager

A Funeral Mass for Ellen C. “Eileen” (Cooney) Griffin will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 12 in Our Lady Help of Christian Church, Newton at 10:30 a.m.

Mrs. Griffin, a daughter of the late Timothy and Julia (Keohane) Cooney. She was born in Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland. She moved to the United States at 19 years old. She passed away in the St. Elizabeth Hospital, Brighton on Friday afternoon after a brief illness.

OBIT: Mary Louise Glynn, 92, WHS Graduate, Fidelis Club Member at St. Pats

On Wednesday Dec. 23, 2015, a Funeral Mass for Mary Louise Glynn will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church, Waltham at 10 a.m.

Miss Glynn, a daughter of the late John F. & Margaret M. (Gorman) Glynn, passed away in the Marist Hill Skilled Nursing Center, Waltham after a lengthy period of declining health. She was 92. Born in Cambridge, she graduated from Watertown High School, class of 1941. She furthered her schooling at the Comptometer School, in Boston.

OBIT: Johanna Driscoll, 84, Attended St. Pat’s, Worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital

A true daughter of the “old sod,” Johanna A. Sullivan Driscoll was born in South Boston to Michael Sullivan of County Cork and Nellie Millette of County Mayo on Aug. 9, 1931. After the usual school days, in the late forties she met the love of her life, Cornelius F. Driscoll now gone he was a strapping Irishman with all the charm, good looks and bravado that the Irish are famous for. He had a smile that made the young girls swoon and melt. In 1948 they married. Johanna, better known as “Joan” or “Joanie was a huge fan of Dean Martin, often listening to his music for hours on end.
