OBIT: Harold Hallsworth, 92, Navy Veteran, MBTA Operator

A Funeral Mass for Harold C. Hallsworth will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown. Mr. Hallsworth, a son of the late Cecil and Alice (Handy) Hallsworth passed away on Friday May 26, 2017 in the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, after a brief illness. Harold was 92. Harold was born and raised in Brighton.

The members of the Historic District Commission of Watertown regretfully announce the passing of Carolyn M. “Nicki” Famiglietti, the Secretary to the Historic District Commission for 6 years, announced Preservation Agent Chris Hayward. As a practicing lawyer, and graduate of Boston University School of Law, Carolynn brought exceptional intelligence that was mixed with common sense to the body of this commission and every meeting. She always possessed an awareness of the oftentimes competing aspects contained in each project. Carolyn had an ability to apply the rules of the Historic District Ordinance in a way that honored the rules themselves, the applicants appearing before the commission, and each of the residents of the Historic District over her years of service to the community. It has been an honor to work with Carolyn throughout the years and she will be missed as a valued member of the commission as well as a friend.

Ruth E. Karcher, of Watertown, died May 6, 2017 at age 96. Beloved daughter of the late Gottfried & Adelaide (Debrikowski) Karcher. Devoted sister of Eva Mason of Watertown, and loving aunt to many generations of nieces & nephews. A lifelong resident of Watertown, Ruth worked at the Perkins School for the Blind for many years. Know for her vibrant, outgoing and friendly personality.

OBIT: Georgina Spence, 67, Watertown High Grad, Worked in Payroll for UPS

A visitation will be held on Thursday March 16th, 2017 in MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. for Georgina M. Spence. Ms. Spence passed away in Cambridge on Friday morning after a period of declining health. She was the daughter of the late George R. Spence, Sr. & Betty M. Spence (Smith). She was 67. Born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Georgina moved to Watertown at a young age.
