OBIT: Paul Menton, 92, Former Judge, Watertown State Representative

Watertown’s Paul Menton, who served as a judge and a state representative for the town, died on July 16, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Watertown and left high school to join the Marines to serve in the Pacific during World War II. Menton became a lawyer and then served Watertown in the State Legislature for a dozen years as the town’s State Representative. He was appointed Associate Justice of the Cambridge District Court in 1986 and he served until he was 70. Menton was also active in town, on the School Building Committee, Historical Commission, Fair Housing Committee and School Committee.

OBIT: Victoria Brezoska, 96, Worked for Raytheon, Loved the Senior Center

A Funeral Mass for Victoria Elizabeth Brezoska will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown. Miss Brezoska passed away in the Golden Pond Nursing Center, Hopkinton on Sunday evening, July 16, 2017 after a long period of declining health. She was 96. A graduate of Newton High School, class of 1938. She also received a degree at the Florence Utt School of Key Punching.

A prayer service for Donald E. Kelley, Sr. will be celebrated on the Thursday evening at 6 p.m. in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, Watertown. Mr. Kelley, a son of the late Charles E. Kelley and Genevieve A. (Fordan) Kelley passed away on Friday July 14, 2017 in St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire. Donald was 81. Donald was born Newton, MA and raised in Watertown.

Mary passed away in her home on Friday evening after a brief illness. She was 70. Mary was the devoted mother of Theresa Fahey McGoldrick & her husband Timothy of Watertown, Julia Fahey Slattery & her husband Patrick of Brighton and James M. Fahey of Watertown. Loving grandmother of Emma & Matthew McGoldrick and Ronan & Malachy Slattery.

A Funeral Mass for Clementine M. “Clemy” (Van Huychem) McDermott, will be celebrated on Friday June 23, 2017 at 9 a.m., in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown. A daughter of the late Joseph and Leonie (Van Dist) Van Huychem. Passed away in her home on Monday evening after a period of declining health. She was 91. Clemy was born and schooled in Belgium.

James “Jace” Dunn, 85, Worked for NE Telephone, Hibernian Member for 40 Years

James C. “Jace”Dunn of Watertown died on June 11, 2017 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Mary P. “Rusty” (O’Connor). Devoted father of Maureen J. Terry & Karen P. Dunn both of Watertown. Dear brother of the late Thomas F. Jr., Francis, Robert J., John E., Dorothy C., Eleanor M. Hackett, Lorraine F. Kubillis, & Virginia M. Oates. Loving grandfather of Laura & Daniel Terry.

Mr. Hallsworth, a son of the late Cecil and Alice (Handy) Hallsworth passed away on Friday May 26, 2017 in the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, after a brief illness. Harold was 92. Harold was born and raised in Brighton.
