Winter Concert Series Coming to Watertown Library Hosting

WFPL & the Watertown Public Arts & Culture Committee present the Winter Concert Series. The Winter Concert Series runs from December through March and happens the first Sunday of the month! As in previous years, our concert series features talented, local artists. Performances are free and open to all. Let the music begin!

Watertown’s Noah Kahan Will be Musical Guest on Saturday Night Live

Having just wrapped up his 2023 tour, singer Noah Kahan will have one more stop: New York to appear on Saturday Night Live. Kahan, who grew up in Vermont and now resides in Watertown, announced the appearance on social media. This year, Kahan has been nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy; was nominated for Best Rock Artist and Best Rock Album by Billboard; played major music festivals including Boston Calling, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza; and had a world tour (and another world tour planned for 2024 ending at Fenway Park).

Watertown Church Seeks Singers for Advent & Christmas Choir

Do you love to sing with others? Do you enjoy singing seasonal church music? If so, you’re warmly invited to join the Advent and Christmas choir at Church of the Good Shepherd. We rehearse every Sunday in Advent at 9 a.m. and then sing at the 10 a.m. service.  This year Advent Sundays are on December 3, 10, 17, and 24.

“Dreams Do Come True” — Watertown Musician Nominated for Grammy

A whirlwind year for Watertown singer/songwriter Noah Kahan continues as he was recently nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy Award. “Dreams do come true,” Kahan posted on social media after the announcement. Kahan became well known for his song “Stick Season,” inspired by growing up in Vermont. He also recorded Dial Drunk with Post Malone.

Watertown Shows Off Its Talent at Community Foundation Event

The second annual Watertown’s Got Talent drew singers, dancers, and musicians of all ages this week. The Oct. 24 event raises money for the Watertown Community Foundation and was held at a stage on the River Green at Arsenal Yards. And the winners are ….

Armenian Museum of America Presents “Early Recordings of Armenian Classics” by Ara Dinkjian

Musician and composer Ara Dinkjian will play Armenian recordings made over 100 years ago and share vintage photographs from that time period. The following announcement was provided by the Armenian Museum of America:

The Armenian Museum of America is elated to present “Early Recordings of Armenian Classics” featuring the eminent musician and composer Ara Dinkjian, on Nov. 9, 2023, at 7 p.m. In this distinctive event, Ara Dinkjian will discuss early recordings of well-known Armenian songs, play recordings made more than 100 years ago, and share historic photographs. “We invite music enthusiasts from all backgrounds, both Armenian and non-Armenian, to join us for this unique exploration,” says Jason Sohigian, AMA’s Executive Director. “Our Sound Archive, a digital repository of rare historic recordings, offers an auditory journey through time.

Families Invited to Halloween Happening at Brigham House

For years local children have been treated to a HALLOWEEN HAPPENING where there was “not a fright in sight.”   

Once again, we are offering this free celebration. On Oct. 27 come on over to Brigham House – 341 Mt. Auburn St. in Watertown at 10 a.m. to hear a concert with the award winning “Debbie and Friends” plus trick or treat with the residents.
