Watertown Arbor Day Celebration Filled with Fun, Hands-on Activities

Learn about tree care, plant some seeds, get your own seedling tree and enjoy food and music at Watertown’s Arbor Day of Service. The event will be held on Thursday, April 28 at the Commander’s Mansion, 440 Talcott Ave. in Watertown (off Arsenal Street), from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

The Arbor Day celebration will feature an afternoon of fun and educational programs.

Wedding Showcase Coming to Watertown’s Commander’s Mansion

The annual Wedding Showcase at the Commander’s Mansion in Watertown is coming up! The event will be held Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6 from 1-4 p.m. at the Commander’s Mansion, located next to the Arsenal on the Charles complex at 440 Talcott Ave. (off Arsenal Street). Meet with Boston’s top industry vendors (different vendors will be showcased throughout the weekend), sample delicious treats and walk away from the event with a list of professional resources and contacts! Tickets cost $10 per person and are good all weekend!

See When Santa Arrives at the Commander’s Mansion Holiday Open House

The Watertown Commander’s Mansion will deck the halls for the annual Holiday Open House on Thursday, Dec. 3. The event free and open to the community and runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the Watertown Fire Department will deliver Santa at 6 p.m.

Take a self-guided tour of the decorated rooms on both floors of the mansion. The decorations come courtesy of Watertown Home Depot. Watertown Savings Bank will bring Santa, and you can visit him from from 6-8 p.m. Make sure you bring your camera!

Big Bash Planned for Commander’s Mansion’s 150th Birthday!

The Commander’s Mansion in Watertown is turning 150 years old this year and a big – and free – celebration is planned. The community event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13 from 1-4 p.m. at the mansion, located in the Arsenal on the Charles Complex. The USS Constitution Color Guard will kick off our festivities, thanks to the Watertown Veterans’ Services Department. Enjoy some food, activities, games and Touch-A-Tank!

Revels Hosting May Day Benefit at Watertown’s Commander’s Mansion

Join the Revels for an evening of enthusiastic performances, jubilant music, hearty hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer, and a fabulous silent auction all benefiting Revels educational programming. The benefit will be on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 7 p.m. at The Commander’s Mansion, 440 Talcott Avenue, Watertown, MA. Part of this special May Day Benefit will include performances given by students in our traditional dance programs and will showcase the excitement, joy, and community learning traditional dance, music and song gives to the next generation. Commander’s Mansion Chosen a Favorite by Wedding Couples

Watertown’s Commander’s Mansion received good news to start 2015 – winning an award from a national wedding website. The historic home in the Arsenal on the Charles won the WeddingWire Couple’s Choice Award for 2015. “The Couple’s Choice Award recognizes your business as being  among the top 5% of wedding professionals nationwide,” said the announcement received by the Commander’s Mansion. Facility Manager Tammy McKenna said the award is a big honor. “This is the first time for this award for us – we are super excited,” McKenna said.
