Raiders Baseball Team Looks Back on Successful Season After Exiting Tournament

Photo by Brianna WilliamsThe Raiders season ended in the MIAA Div. 3 Round of 32, but the Raiders had one of their best seasons in years. FOXBOROUGH — Watertown senior captain Casey Williams pitched a complete game with five strikeouts, but the Raiders fell by a run to Foxborough in the MIAA Div. 3 Tournament on Tuesday. For the Round of 32, 38th seed Watertown High School traveled to face the sixth seeded Warriors. Along with strong pitching, Watertown had strong field work from senior captains Johnny Cacace, Robbie Iannetta and Daniel Tattrie. 

However, Foxborough took the lead early in the first inning by scoring a run.

BOURNE — The Watertown/Wayland boy’s hockey team appeared to have one more moment of magic up its sleeve after grabbing a tying goal in the final minutes of the MIAA Div. 3 Final Four game, but the “puck luck” was not on the Raiders’ side and the Sailors will be skating for the State Title after a 4-2 win capped by an empty net goal. Watertown Hockey Team Keeps Dream of Winning State Title at The Garden Alive

LOWELL — All season, the goal of the Watertown High School’s boys hockey team has been “Getting to the Garden,” but the dream almost slipped away in the Final Four game against Middlesex League rival Stoneham. The coaches gave the Raiders a simple goal: win the next 15 minutes. In the first period, second-seeded Watertown (14-9-1) played a fast, flowing game, which has been very successful so far in the MIAA Div.
