Watertown Schools’ Art Show Goes Online, See Visual Art from All Grades

A piece made by a Watertown High School Student in the Studio Art class. For many years, the Watertown Public Schools Art Show has been displayed at the Watertown Mall, but the Coronavirus has forced the district to find a new venue — a virtual venue. The Connecting Through Creativity – WPS Virtual Art Show 2020 can now be seen online, and features works from every grade at every school in the district. The Watertown’s Coordinator of Fine, Applied, and Performing Arts Magen Slesinger provided the following information:

The Watertown Public Schools Visual Art Department is proud to present our first ever Virtual Art Show! When looking at visual art, we are often looking at the beautiful end product.

Artist Reception for New Show at Watertown Library This Week

Artist Robin A. Orifice will be have her artwork exhibited at the Watertown Library in September. She will be at an artist’s reception on Sept. 5. The artwork of Robin A. Orifice will be displayed at the Watertown Free Public Library during the month of September, and the artist will be at an opening reception. The reception will be held on Thursday, Sept.

Artists Wanted for Newton Open Studios Fall Juried Art Fest

Newton Open Studios will host its ninth annual Fall Juried Art Fest in Nov. and artists are wanted for the show. The Fall Juried Art Fest is open to artists who live, work, volunteer, or attend art classes in Newton, or who is a member of a Newton arts organization. ARTSCOPE’s Kaveh Mojtabai (Founder and Publisher) and Brian Goslow (Managing Editor) will jury show, which will take place Nov. 5-6, 2016.
