Head to the Mall for a Drive-In Movie This Summer

Get the family in the car and head over to the Arsenal Project in Watertown for a pair of free drive-in movies this summer. 

The mall will screen “Happy Feet” on Tuesday, July 21 and “Grease” on Tuesday Aug. 18. Rain dates will be the following Tuesday. Look for the big screen in The Arsenal Project front parking lot. Free activities and fun for kids start at 6:30 p.m., and popcorn, treats and more will be available.

Mass Audubon Coming to Watertown to Present Program for Kids

The Mass Audubon Society will be in town to put on a specials interactive program for children ages 3-6. The Arsenal Project will host “Bugs and Flowers” on Wednesday, June 3. Drop in between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to find out about wildlife around you. “Right outside your door the world is popping and hopping. Plants are flowers, bees are buzzing, and other insects are everywhere.

Mass Audubon Hosting Event at a Mall in Watertown

You are invited to the “Birds and Bugs” event presented by Mass Audubon on Saturday, May 16. The Arsenal Project will introduce them to the wonders of natures around you. Right outside your door… the world is alive! Birds singing, building nests, finding food – insects and other invertebrates are active, too,” reads the announcement.

Find Out When Food Trucks will Return to the Arsenal Project

May means the return of food trucks to Watertown! Several will be showing up at the Arsenal Project every Wednesday. 

The Arsenal Project sent out the following announcement about the food and other fun coming this year:

The Arsenal Project is pleased to announce the return of the popular weekly food truck program, Food Truck Wednesdays, kicking off May 20. Five of Boston’s best gourmet food trucks will be rolling into the center’s parking lot this spring, summer, and fall. Food Truck Wednesdays at The Arsenal Project will offer a variety of food during lunchtime, providing a convenient, fun and delicious option for those living and working in the area. “We are thrilled to be able to bring this well-received program back to the community for another great year,” said William McQuillan, President of Boylston Properties, co-developer of The Arsenal Project.

Cub Scouts Competing at Pinewood Derby in Watertown

The top cars from Cub Scout packs around the area will compete in the 11th Annual Sons of Liberty District Pinewood Derby at the Arsenal Project. Each of the scouts have carved out and decorated cars from pieces of wood and won their local Pinewood Derby competition. Cars can weigh five ounces and be seven inches long. The cars will compete on a 30-foot-long track set up at the food court of the Arsenal Project (formerly Arsenal Mall) at 485 Arsenal St. in Watertown on Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

The competitors are first-graders (Tigers), second-graders (Wolves), third-graders (Bears), fourth-graders (first-year Webelos) and fifth-graders (second-year Webelos).

Catch a Free Screening of ‘Frozen’ and Meet the Characters!

Catch a free screening of “Frozen” and help a local food pantry. The Arsenal Project will show Disney’s animated favorite and you can also meet Frozen’s very own Olaf, Anna, Sven and Elsa.  

The event is free if you bring two canned goods per person. The items will go to the Watertown Food Pantry. The Frozen event begins at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Feb.
