Police Log: Party Guest Gets Out of Control, Chimney Repair Scam

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

May 22, 3:39 a.m.: Police received a report of a suspicious man at Arsenal Mall. Security spotted a man looking into windows at Marshalls, and then was seen inside the parking garage. The man went into a port-o-potty and would not come out until police arrived. When he did, police spoke to the man and learned that he had a warrant for his arrest.

May 18, 5:57 p.m.: Officers patrolling on Arsenal Street near Greenough Boulevard spotted a man they knew to have a warrant for his arrest. Michael Halner, 40, of Watertown, was placed under arrest on the warrant out of Waltham District Court for two counts of threats to commit a crime. 

May 19, 3:18 p.m.: A shoplifter at Target left the store. Store security gave Police a description and officers located him at a bus stop on Arsenal Street. The man walked past the registers with a large tote bag which made a clanking sound as he walked.

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

May 12 11:51  a.m.: Police were called after two men were seen taking items from the toy and electronics sections at Target. The men had left before officers arrived, but one was located at the Residence Inn by Marriott, and the other at Dunkin’ on Arsenal Street. The first man, identified as Joshua Walsh, 35, of Middlborough, took headphones, a toy squirt gun and a backpack. Police found he had a warrant from Waltham District Court for shoplifting.

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

April 25, 11:03 a.m.: An officer was flagged down and got a report of a man urinating outside their vehicle into the roadway on Main Street near Waverley Avenue. The car was seen heading toward Waltham. The officer headed in that direction and another person flagged him down to tell him about a vehicle stopped at the light near John Brewer’s who was slumped behind the wheel and appeared to be asleep. The officer went to that area and saw the man.

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

April 14, 12:13 a.m.: Witnesses called police after seeing a silver and black SUV driving down Main Street with a flat tire and being driven erratically. The vehicle swerved a few times and almost lost control. Police located the vehicle on Prescott Street, and the driver was in the front seat slouched forward and asleep. It took several attempts for officers to wake the man in the car.

April 10, 4:29 pm.: A man was seen at Target taking an electric scooter. Security followed the man who got into a grey 2008 Toyota Camry and they got the plate. Police got the description and pulled the vehicle over on Arsenal Street. The scooter was in the back seat.

Police Log: Scammer Posed as Customs Agent, Car Stolen from Gas Station

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrest

April 8, 6:43 p.m.: A shoplifter at Target grabbed a bike buggy, left the store without paying and fled. Police received a description, and they located the man walking toward the bike path behind Target. He had hidden the buggy behind a dumpster near the path, but officers found it and returned it to the store. Police also determined the man was wanted on a warrant from South Boston District Court for possession of a Class A drug, possession of a Class B drug, and intent to distribute a Class B drug.

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests

March 27, 8:47 p.m.: Officers on Arsenal Street saw a vehicle driving westbound dragging two construction cones under the front bumper and speeding. The cones came from a construction site farther down Arsenal, near Louise Street. Police pulled the vehicle over and the driver had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. He performed field sobriety tests and did not pass four.
