May 28, 12:30 p.m.: Police stopped a vehicle for having an expired inspection sticker and the officer discovered the driver had an outstanding warrant. A 34-year-old Watertown man was arrested for for a warrant from Woburn District Court for violating a restraining order. May 29, 6:24 p.m.: Employees from Pearle Vision spotted a man taking some eye glasses from the store at the Arsenal Project. They followed him until he was at the Dunkin Donuts in the mall.

Police Log: Man Busted for 4th OUI, Man Busted with Heroin

May 19, 9:08 p.m.: Police arrived at a two-vehicle accident on Arlington Street and woman said that she had rear-ended the vehicle ahead of her that had stopped at a red light. When officers spoke to the driver of the car that was hit, he said that the woman was not driving, but rather the man who was driving switched seats after the accident. The officer spoke to the man and his speech was slurred. Field sobriety tests were given an a 37-year-old Watertown man was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, failing to use care when stopping, unlicensed driving and possession of a Class B drug.

Police Log: Three Youths Broke into a School Bus, Gun Found in Hotel Room

May 4, 1:15 p.m.: Police served a warrant on a 26-year-old Watertown man from Waltham District Court for animal cruelty. May 4, 2:13 p.m.: A shoplifter was caught concealing $405 worth of merchandise at Target. The 56-year-old Falmouth woman was arrested on a charge of shoplifting. May 4, 9:21 p.m.: An officer patrolling on Elm Street by Arlington Street ran the registration of a vehicle and found the registered owner had an outstanding warrant.

Watertown Police Arrest Drug Dealer After a Joint Investigation

Watertown Police arrested a drug dealer after a months-long investigation. The police department teamed with the Suburban Middlesex Drug Task Force during the investigation, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn

“In January 2015, police received complaints of a drug dealer in the area of Waverley Avenue,” Lawn said. The man was identified as 44-year-old Preston Mitchell of Watertown, Lawn said. On the evening of April 21, police arrested Mitchell on three counts of distribution of a Class B substance – Percocet pills, Lawn said.

Man Caught with Stolen Car After a String of Car Break Ins

A Cambridge man faces a wide range of charges after being caught in a car he allegedly stole from Watertown and was caught sleeping inside by police in Somerville. On April 20, a Brimmer Street resident reported that a 2009 Honda Pilot had been stolen, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. The owner believes the keys were left in the vehicle. The vehicle had a Lo-Jack system, and the vehicle was tracked to Somerville, Lawn said. “When Somerville Police approached the vehicle they saw an individual sleeping in the backseat of the motor vehicle,” Lawn said.

Police Log: Second Time Not a Charm for Shoplifter, Mother Arrested for Endangering Child

April 14, 2:58 a.m.: Police discovered a man had a probation warrant. The 27-year old Watertown man was arrested on the warrant out of Waltham District Court. April 15, 2:27 p.m.: An officer stopped a man on Main Street who had a warrant. The 29-year-old Watertown man was arrested on a warrant for a probation violation out of Waltham District Court.

Brighton Man Busted for Selling Drugs in Watertown

A 30-year old Brighton man faces multiple drug charges after Watertown Police caught him allegedly selling drugs in the West End of Watertown. Police received reports that a Dodge Caravan had been coming to Highland Avenue to meet other cars and exchange something before leaving the area, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Police watched the area where the Caravan was seen, and found a vehicle. A short time later another vehicle showed up. “It appeared that two individuals were engaging in a drug deal,” Lawn said.

Arrests
April 7, 11:39 a.m.: Police stopped a man on North Beacon Street and found the man had a warrant. The 35-year-old Newton man was arrested on a warrant from Attleboro District Court. April 7, 6:45 p.m.: An officer driving on North Beacon Street spotted a blue Chevy in the left turn lane go straight from Galen Street onto Mt. Auburn Street. The vehicle was stopped and the officer smelled an odor of alcohol on the breath of the driver.
