Police Log: Woman Gets Close Look at Intruder, Man Caught Breaking Into Car

Feb. 18, 10:31 p.m.: A man was spotted in a parking lot on Woodview Way, and when police checked his information they found he had an outstanding warrant. The 28-year-old homeless man was arrested on the warrant from Lynn District Court for four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault and battery. Feb.

Feb. 12, 1:20 a.m.: An officer pulled over a Dodge Challenger after seeing it run a red light at Arsenal Street and Irving Street. After checking the driver’s record, police discovered he had a suspended license. The 28-year-old Watertown man was arrested on charges of a red light violation and driving with a suspended license.

Watertown Man Accused of Slashing 14 Tires at Rhode Island Casino

A Watertown man turned himself in to Lincoln, R.I., police after he allegedly slashed the tires on 14 vehicles at a Rhode Island Casino. Security video at Twin River Casino caught a man walking up vehicles and slashed tires, according to a news release from the casino. Police identified used surveillance and gaming information to identify the suspect as Jeffery C. Parillo, 43, of East Watertown, according to a Providence Journal report. Police Log: Man Wanted for Groping 2 Women, 2 Homes Broken Into

Feb. 4, 4:55 p.m.: A shoplifter from CVS ran from the store and was tracked down on Main Street. An employee saw the man take some items and place them in a bag before trying to leave without paying. When he was confronted by an employee the man gave back the items and left.

Man Busted for Identity Fraud While Trying to Upgrade His iPhone

Watertown Police arrested a man from the Big Apple for allegedly using false driver’s licenses to upgrade his two iPhones at Best Buy. On Feb. 3 at 5:30 p.m., police were called to the store in the Watertown Mall after security suspected a customer was up to no good. The suspect, identified as Darell I. Grosvener, 22, of New York City, came in and tried to upgrade two phones to iPhone 6S, worth $400 each, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. “As a standard practice, customers are asked for their cell phone number, zip code and the last four digits of their Social Security number,” O’Connor said.

Police Catch Thief Trying to Break into Watertown Home

Watertown Police arrested a 38-year-old man who they caught in the act of trying to break into a home on Adams Street. 

On Jan. 26 at 12:38 p.m., Police received a call from a resident who saw a man standing on the lower roof of a nearby home, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. “An officer in the area arrived and observed a man standing inside the screen door of the basement,” O’Connor said. “The suspect saw police and began to walk away.” Police stopped the man, and identified him as Edwin P. Lopez of Watertown.
