An alert resident helped police catch a man who had broken into an East Watertown church. The Watertown Police received a call on Feb. 6 just before midnight about a person banging on a door at the Greek Orthodox Church/Hellenic Cultural Center on Bigelow Avenue, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. “When we arrived, officers observed a glass door on the Bigelow Avenue side of the building completely shattered,” O’Connor said. “As officers approached the shattered door they heard noises from inside the building.

Sept. 22, 2:30 p.m.: Police, were called to the area near Dunkin’ Donuts in Watertown Square for a man who appeared to be unsteady on his seat. He was seen walking back and forth on the sidewalk. Police located him and believed the man may have been under the influence of narcotics.

Man Arrested After Leading Police on Chase While Riding a Scooter

Police placed a Waltham man under arrest after he led them on a chase in Watertown on his scooter. On May 7, at 2:27 p.m., an officer monitoring traffic at the corner of Main and Cross streets saw a Vespa-style scooter going approximately 50 mph, on the wrong side of the road while heading east, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. The operator, later identified as Neil Ozzy Frajul, 26, of Waltham, was not wearing a helmet, nor was he wearing eye protection. At that point the officer tried to stop the scooter, O’Connor said. “The scooter failed to stop and the rider ended up running the red lights in Watertown Square,” O’Connor said.

Police Log: Car Stolen, Men Get in Fight Over COVID-19 Concerns

April 16, 12:46 a.m.: A caller reported seeing a vehicle being driven erratically on the 200 block of Arsenal Street at about 12:27 a.m. Police responded and located a vehicle matching the caller’s description a few minutes later on the 500 block of Main Street, but when they attempted to pull him over, the driver sped away. He was located a short time later pulled over on Grove Street in Waltham. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol before driving, and he showed signs of intoxication, including emitting a strong odor of alcohol. Police discovered he had a license suspended for an OUI and already had two prior OUI charges.

Man Who Stole Car from Watertown Caught in Boston

A Newton man wanted for stealing a car, after breaking into a Watertown home, was caught the next day by Boston Police. Watertown police arrested 36-year-old Jonathan L. Bradley Jr., of Newton, on multiple charges, including breaking into a home and stealing a 2012 Subaru Impreza. On April 13, an Elton Avenue resident heard sounds on the upper floor of a two-family home between 5:30 and 6:30 a.m. and later realized it was someone breaking into the home, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. “Thinking it was someone up early, the resident didn’t think anything of it,” O’Connor said. “When person got up they saw that a pocket book had been gone through, and their vehicle was missing from in front of the house.”

Police Nab Man Who Broke into Home in Watertown

Watertown Police took custody of a man wanted for breaking into a home in East Watertown on Feb. 6, but still seek a second suspect. Two men broke down the back door of a three-family home on Dexter Avenue, and took an estimated $5,000 in items from one of the units, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. “They were interrupted when the upstairs neighbor came home,” O’Connor said. “They fled through the backdoor.”

Man Arrested After Attacking Co-Worker, Threatened to Use Pipe & Knife

A Waltham man faces multiple charges after attacking a co-worker at Russo’s following an argument. A fight started at Russo’s when two employees got into an argument. One of the employees, later identified as Dmitry Kosorukov of Waltham, was drinking out of a 5-gallon jug of water and the other asked if he had paid for the water, and wanted to see a receipt, according to Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. Words were exchanged and Kosorukov allegedly threw the jug at the other employee and then hit him in the chest. He then pushed the other employee in the chest.
