Watertown High School’s field hockey team has been streaking towards the program’s 21st State Championship in 2023. A win in Saturday’s MIAA Div. 3 State Final would give the Raiders their 75th straight win, third straight title, and if they shut out Newburyport the team would extend its national record shutout streak to 42. The final is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

HINGHAM — In a battle of heavyweight field hockey programs, Watertown emerged victorious, 1-0, after a 60 minute struggle in the MIAA Div. 3 State Tournament Semifinal that went down to the final moments Wednesday night. For the third straight year, the Raiders battled Sandwich deep into the tournament. In 2021 and 2022 the clash came in the State Final, and this year it came one round before.

The Watertown High School football team has rediscovered its winning ways, defeating Arlington Catholic this week 33-7. The Raiders won their opening game before dropping seven straight. A week ago, Watertown defeated Greater Lowell 30-24 in a non-playoff, non-league game. Thursday Watertown made it two straight.

Watertown Field Hockey Rolls in Tourney Win Over Marlborough

Two Raiders got a pair of goals apiece before halftime to lead the Watertown High School field hockey team to a 7-0 win over Marlborough in the Round of 32 game at Victory Field Saturday morning. In the first action in the MIAA Div. 3 tournament, Watertown got two goals from junior Nola MacKenzie, and senior Molly Driscoll also struck twice. While the Watertown High School field hockey team has made headlines with a national record setting effort and an undefeated record, two other teams made the MIAA state tournament, and other individual Raiders are competing at the State Level. Volleyball

Watertown’s girls volleyball team finished 7-15 and made the State Tournament for the second time ever. The Raiders are ranked 31st in the MIAA Div. 3 State Tournament and be the home team in a preliminary round game against St.

Youth Hockey Players Can Enter to Participate in Boston Bruins Foundation Clinic

Watertown Recreation Director Peter Centola announced that young hockey players can enter to be part of a hockey clinic put on by the Boston Bruins Foundation. The following announcement was provided by the Watertown Recreation Department:

On behalf of the City of Watertown, the Watertown Department of Recreation, and the Boston Bruins Foundation, it is my privilege to formally invite you to our Court Dedication Ceremony at PFC Richard Moxley Field. This event will take place on Wednesday, October 25 at 4 p.m. at 31 Westminster Ave in Watertown. As part of this Dedication and Celebration, there will be a hockey clinic offered by the Boston Bruins Foundation. The Watertown Recreation Department are looking for 30 participants who love hockey, ages 8, 9, 10 and 11 and will be able to make a commitment on October 25 from 3:30 to 5:30.
