Watertown Residents Can Apply for a Youth Sports Scholarship

Get Lively hosted a sport equipment rally to raise money for a youth sports scholarship. The following announcement was provided by Turf and Get Lively:

Turf and Get Lively(R) Health & Fitness Studio hosted the first-annual Pass the Torch: Youth Sports Equipment Rally to get gently used equipment into the hands of local kids. At the end of a very busy and beautiful spring day, we were left with a few items of value, so we headed over to Play it Again Sports in Waltham to trade them for cash. We planned to push the cash back to the community in the form of a recreational scholarship designed to help a family defray some the expense of a program for which their child would like to participate. Turf rounded up the amount received from Play it Again and matched it so that it can now offer a 2024 Turf Recreation Scholarship of $200.

Seventh Seed Claims Watertown Summer Basketball League Title

The Watertown Summer Basketball League Champion has been crowned after a winner-take-all Game 3 on Tuesday night, and one of the lowest seeds has claimed the 2024 title. The game had been postponed from Aug. 15 due to lightning. New Day won game 1 of the finals, 68-57.

The Papas Elite Finals Game Three between No. 4 More Than Different and No. 7 New Day will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at Saltonstall Park.

Summer Basketball Finals: New Day Takes a 1-0 Series Lead

The seventh seed in the Watertown Summer Basketball League kept rolling through the playoffs and took a 1-0 lead in the finals with a win Tuesday night. No. 7 New Day defeated No. 4 More Than Different 68-57 at Saltonstall Park.

If your young athletes are inspired by the USA women’s soccer gold medal, they can join the Watertown Youth Soccer program this fall. Registration is still open for Watertown Youth Soccer’s fall season, and plenty of spots remain for third-grade and fifth-grade girls travel teams and the girls in-town skills program for grades 2-4.

Watertown Football Team Hosting Golf Fundraiser

Charlie BreitroseThe Watertown Raiders football team will hold a golf fundraiser on Aug. 11. The Watertown High School Football boosters will hold a golf tournament to help support the program. Play a round of golf at Sandy Burr Country Club in Wayland on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024 beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Tickets are $175.00 per golfer, and include:
