The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Feb. 22: A man was caught shoplifting $127 worth of merchandise at Target. Robert Richards, 37 of Cambridge, was arrested for shoplifting by concealment, a subsequent offense. Feb.
A fire that began in the kitchen of a multi-family home on Adams Street was extinguished by the Watertown Fire Department on Wednesday. The Fire Department responded to a call at 5:31 p.m. on March 5 after resident reported smoke alarms sounding and smoke coming from the upper floors. “The fire, which originated in a third-floor apartment kitchen, was quickly brought under control by responding crews,” said Watertown Fire Chief Ryan Nicholson. When they arrived, crews forced entry into the apartment and found a fire in the kitchen area, Nicholson said. Firefighters from Engine 1 advanced a hose line to extinguish the flames while other teams ventilated the structure and checked for further fire spread.
The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Feb. 14: A man went into Nike and took a pair of Air Jordan One shoes priced at $125. He concealed them in a bag and left the store at 5:45 p.m. without paying. Feb.

Watertown Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire on Westminster Avenue on Tuesday. (Courtesy of Watertown Fire Department)
Flames were coming out of a house on Westminster Avenue when Watertown Firefighters arrived Tuesday afternoon. The Fire Department extinguished the fire, which went to two alarms.
At about 3:45 p.m., calls came in for a fire on Westminster, said Watertown Fire Chief Ryan Nicholson. The resident noticed the fire and got out of the home before the Fire Department arrived, Nicholson said. “Members of (WFD) Group 4, under Deputy Chief (Dan) Tardiff, put a quick stop to the fire,” Nicholson said.
The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Jan. 2, 9 a.m.: A package was stolen containing two items that cost $20. The item went missing from the Watertown Housing Authority building on Waverley Avenue.
Jan. 2: A man was spotted taking three pairs of headphones worth a combined $340.
The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Dec. 13: A Bromfield Street resident received a suspicious email from an unknown person asking to send money to a Bitcoin address. The resident did not send the money and reported it to the Police. Dec.

Thanks to the diligent efforts of our patrol and detective divisions, a Cambridge resident has been identified and will face criminal charges for their actions.
