OBIT: Robert J. Cabral, 54, Watertown Resident Who Worked for Newton DPW

Robert J. Cabral, of Watertown, a Newton Public Works employee, died suddenly on Sept. 13, 2016, at the age of 54. He leaves behind a wife, three daughters, four brothers and one sister, and many nieces and nephews. Cabral died last week while working for the Newton Public Works Department, according to a WHDH Channel 7 story. He worked for the City of Newton for 29 years.

OBIT: John G. Demos, 76, Founder of Demos Restaurant

The founder of Demos Restaurant on Mt. Auburn Street, John G. Demos, passed away at his Sudbury home on Sept. 1, 2016 at the age of 76 after battling cancer, according to Duckett Funeral Home. He opened his first restaurant in Boston and opened Demos in Watertown in 1971. John G. Demos, 76, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 1, 2016 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Francis H. “Fran” McCarran, Jr., 92, of Watertown passed away peacefully at home on Sunday August 21, 2016. Fran and his wife, Helen F. (Cronin) McCarran enjoyed almost 69 years of love, fun and family together. Helen will forever cherish his nightly “Good night my love, I love you thank you for taking such good care of me.” He is also survived by his dear brother, Paul J. McCarran, who’s nightly phone call to discuss the Red Sox and always an “I Love You” meant the world to Fran. They were blessed with five children Francis H. McCarran III and his wife Joanne, William J. McCarran and his wife Lorraine, Linda M.

OBIT: Alma “Ellie” Petriello, 89, Worked with Disabled Children, Active at St. Pat’s

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday August 16, 2015 in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown, for Alma M, “Ellie” Petriello at 9 a.m.

Mrs. Petriello died in the Wingate of Needham Care Center on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 11, 2016 after a long period of declining health. She was 89. Ellie attender the Mass. Hospital School for Crippled Children in Canton. She worked as a child caretaker.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday August 1, 2015 in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown, for Thomas David Scioli at 9 a.m.

Mr. Scioli, a son of the late Alexander and Clorinda (Cotone) Scioli passed away in Westborough on Wednesday evening, July 27, 2016 after a period of declining health, he was 87. A lifelong resident of Watertown, Tom graduated from St. Patrick High School, class of 1936. A lifelong member of St. Patrick Parish, an horary member of AOH, Division 14 Watertown and Life member of Order Sons of Italy, Lodge Piave Fiume, # 1036, Watertown.

OBIT: Robert D. Donnelly, 64, Watertown High Class of ’69

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Robert D. Donnelly in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown on Thursday July 28, 2016 at 11 a.m.

Mr. Donnelly, a son of the late Francis T. & Veronica M. (Cavanaugh) Donnelly, passed away on Saturday July 23, 2016 in the Brentwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Danvers after a period of declining health. He was 64. Born and brought up in Watertown, Robert graduated from Watertown High School, class of 1969 and later from Mass. Bay College. He worked as a custodian at the Watertown Arsenal for many years.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 14, 2016 in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, Watertown at 12 noon for Norman E. White. Norman, a son of the late John and Winifred (Musselwhite) White, passed away on Saturday July, 9, 2016 in his home. He was 86. Born in Southampton, England, he grew up in Catford, England during the bombings of World War II. In 1952 he and his wife Maria moved to Watertown.
