Erin Starr’s “Forces of Nature” is part of the One Future exhibit at the Mosesian Center for the Arts. Mosesian Center for the Arts announced the upcoming art exhibit, called One Future. See more details below. Shared Habitat Earth will begin the New Year with a timely new exhibition: “ONE FUTURE”: Life in the Age of Climate Change: Aspirations, Loss, Challenges – and Hope. ONE FUTURE is a group exhibition by 23 artists who remind us that all life on our planet is connected and that we are in this moment together.
Feeling crafty? This coming weekend is going to start with a workshop for making lanterns at the Hatch Maker Space on Saturday. (Are you aware of the River of Light Festival coming up on the 18th?)
After making a beautiful lantern, walk over to the library for the craft swap in the afternoon. Maybe you’ve been inspired to be more creative and need some supplies. Saturday evening brings a delicious dinner and dance in celebration of Armenian Christmas at St.
James DeMarco grew up in Watertown and became a goaltender at age 5. It’s his life’s passion to stand between the pipes and keep the puck out of the net. Combining this with the love of cartooning Small Saves emerged in 1991 and took on a life of his own. “To play goal – then come home and draw Small Saves — is my ideal definition of a good day.”
Watertown gallery Storefront Art Projects will display Wordle paintings by Jeanne Williamson Ostroff from Jan. 4-25. There will be a reception on Saturday, Jan. 4, from 1-4 p.m.

Jeanne Williamson Ostroff works with patterns and boundaries inspired by construction fences, charts of her daily walks, and Wordle puzzles from the
New York Times. She uses a combination of printing; painting; collage; and stitching; on vintage tablecloths and other fabric, in mixed-media pieces that range in size from 6 inches to 35 feet.
The new year is here, for some bringing hope, perhaps of a new grandchild or a serious commitment to the keto diet, for others it comes with much trepidation, of those same things. In any case, there are some fun things to do this weekend in town. After a day of rest and then only a couple of workdays, let’s all get back out there on the weekend and enjoy life’s local pleasures. The Armenian Museum of Art is open and free this weekend. I love the current Tsitoghdzyan show.
The Armenian Museum of America will have free admission over Armenian Christmas Weekend. On Saturday, Jan. 4 and Sunday, Jan. 5 from noon to 6 p.m., the museum will offer free admission. The Museum is located at 65 Main St., in Watertown.
