Gore Place Hosting a Tour in Honor of Edgar Allan Poe

Gore Place announced they will host an Edgar Allan Poe tour of the mansion on Jan. 20, 2023, at 8 p.m.:

Visit Gore Place for a (sort of) creepy tour in honor of the master of the macabre, Edgar Allan Poe, who was born in Boston on Jan. 19, 1809 (the same year Christopher Gore was Governor!)

This evening tour will lead you through the historic rooms of the 1806 Gore Mansion, where you will interact with storytelling elements inspired by Edgar Allan Poe while learning about life in the early 19th century. Tickets cost $21 per person. This tour is designed for adults and is not recommended for children.

Hatch This Month: Sewing Intro, Vision Boards, Soldering & More

It’s a Small Saves Christmas in This Week’s Cartoon

James DeMarco grew up in Watertown and became a goaltender at age 5. It’s his life’s passion to stand between the pipes and keep the puck out of the net. Combining this with the love of cartooning Small Saves emerged in 1991 and took on a life of his own. “To play goal–then come home and draw Small Saves — is my ideal definition of a good day.”

New Rep Presents Pair of Concerts for “Love Weekend”

New Rep’s Love Weekend features Yukihiro Kanesaka, Leon Beal Jr., and Althene Wilson. The concerts will feature the music of Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack. New Repertory Theatre (New Rep) is proud to present Love Weekend, a theatrical stage experience, on Saturday, February 11 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Stage Theater at the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown.   

Internationally-acclaimed pianist/keyboardist and multi-instrumentalis Yukihiro Kanesaka will headline this Valentine’s Day event, celebrating love in tributes to two of the most soulful, artistic voices of our time, by two of the Boston area’s greatest vocal talents:  

Donny Hathaway, featuring Leon Beal Jr. on Saturday, Feb. 11, and 

Roberta Flack, featuring Athene Wilson on Sunday, Feb. 12 

Born in Japan, Yukihiro Kanesaka moved to Boston in 2000 to attend Berklee College of Music, where he is now an assistant professor.

Catch the Display of Artwork Made by Watertown High School Students

Gore Place Starts Multi-Sensory Tours for Children in January

Watertown Actor Featured in Production of “A Christmas Carol”
