A lot of money was raised and spent on the 2015 Watertown Election. Companies with five or fewer employees can still take advantage of the microenterprise grants that were adversely impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. A second round of grants has been announced by the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC). Applications will be accepted from Oct. 2 to Oct.

Gigi’s Pizza Co. has opened on the westside of Watertown, featuring and extensive menu which also includes sandwiches, burgers, salads and wings. The restaurant is located at 129 Waltham Street, the former location of Cugini’s (and Bemis Market before that). The grand opening was held on Sept. 25, according to the Gigi’s Pizza Co.

This October, The Watertown Free Public Library (WFPL) is hosting Graphic Novel Month: a teen-centric celebration with virtual programs for grades 4–12. Why all the fuss? The Library believes that graphic novels and comics are not only fun; they are works of art, often great literature, and a significant part of pop culture. For the first time ever, WFPL is joining forces with The Comic Stop in Watertown to present this October’s festivities. The areas on Galen Street proposed to become life science lab space. In February, the orange area was rezoned from Limited Business to Industrial 2, the same as the grey area. The developers of a project at the former Colonial Buick GMC dealer on Galen Street will be discussing plans for the site at a pair of virtual community meetings. Developers seek to build life science lab space with some publicly accessible open space on the land, which sits next to the MBTA’s Watertown Yard bus stop. The rezoning of the area became a topic of heated discussion by both residents and the Town Council earlier this year.
