The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
Sept. 14, 6:16 p.m.: Target stopped a couple who was shoplifting. They were seen taking items off the shelf and put them in the woman’s pocketbook and into a target shopping bag. They stopped the man, but a woman with a baby carriage fled the store and was last seen heading westbound on Arsenal Street. When security was escorting the man to their office he spat at the two security officers. The man had a total of $146.06 in merchandise. The 24-year-old homeless man was arrested on a charge of shoplifting and two counts of assault and battery. Later, the woman was found and the 26-year-old Newton woman was summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.
Sept. 15, 5:30 p.m.: A woman was spotted taking items off the shelf at Target and putting them in her purse. Then she took a pair of Bluetooth headphones. The took them to the customer service desk to get a refund. Target security also had security tape of the same woman taking more than $500 in items on Aug. 29. The 20-year-old Dorchester woman was arrested on two counts of shoplifting, and larceny over $250.
Sept. 17, 4:57 p.m.: A woman was seen putting a baby swing worth $200 into her cart and tried to leave without paying. The 32-year-old Dorchester woman was arrested on a charge of shoplifting – a third offense.
Sept. 17, 6:50 p.m.: A Main Street resident spotted a man looking into his garage. A short time later he saw the man riding away on a bicycle taken from his garage. The resident got in his car and chased the suspect. He saw the bicycle abandoned on Stuart Street, and he lost sight of the suspect on Highland Avenue. The suspect was caught later by Waltham Police on Waverley Oaks Road. The 26-year-old Cambridge man was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250.
Incidents
Sept. 14, 10:05 p.m.: A man working out at GymIt went to his locker and noticed his keys were missing. He looked out the front door and saw a man inside his car trying to put the keys in the ignition. The man went out and the suspect ran off. The man ran after him, caught up and wrestled his keys and wallet away from the suspect. The suspect ran off and said “I have a knife. I’ll stab you!” and “I have a needle. I’ll stab you!” The suspect is a white male, in his mid-20s, 5-foot-5, average build, with a scruffy beard, black-rimmed glasses, a wore a baseball hat, a gray hooded sweatshirt. Police are investigating.
Sept. 15, 7:59 p.m.: A vehicle parked on Elm Street was keyed on the hood and on the passenger side of the vehicle.
Sept. 17, 10:24 a.m.: A homeless man went into CVS on Main Street and drank and Ensure drink without paying for it. Police were called and he was trespassed out of the store.
Sept. 18, 8:38 a.m.: A Laurel Street resident heard a noise at 2:30 a.m. and when she looked out she saw a white male, about 6-feet tall, medium build, wearing a white tank top and white shorts. She went out in the morning and saw the windshields had been smashed on two vehicles and tires were flattened.
Sept. 20, 8:43 a.m.: A Lexington Street resident reported a car parked on Carey Avenue had two tires slashed sometime overnight.
