Watertown resident Tori Wilbur will participate in the Central New Hampshire Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Arms Park in Manchester, N.H., the Alzheimer’s Association, MA/NH Chapter announced.
“We are doing the Walk as a family in support of our grandmother,” said Wilbur, whose grandmother was diagnosed two years ago. “She is living with my grandfather but we are all helping to take care of her. We are a very close family of seven grandchildren who all love her very much.”
Wilbur joins the Walk for her first year as captain of The Troll Team. To date, the team has raised over $2,200 for the event.
“If we are to be successful in finding effective treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, we will need thousands of people to commit to raising public awareness,” said Jim Wessler, president/CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association, MA/NH Chapter. “The money raised by the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is critical to our fight against this disease. We are grateful to each person who makes a commitment to participate by walking, donating or volunteering.”
More than 5 million people in America are living with Alzheimer’s.
