Watertown High School had some outstanding individual performances at the Middlesex League Indoor Track Championships in Boston this week.
Senior Emily Koufos won the 2-mile run in a time of 11:28.01, more than 12.5 seconds ahead of the second place runner.
The League Meet was the first time Koufos ran that distance competitvely. In her career Koufos has also won 800, the mile and in cross country.
On the boys side, junior Mange Camara won the 300 meters by nearly a second. He finished in 34.95 seconds. Senior Ben Landry finished eighth in the race.
Camara also took second place in the 55-meter dash. He ran a 6.59. Earlier this year Camara broke two WHS records on the same day, and he bettered both thise times at the League meet: the 55 by .07 seconds and the 300 by.49 seconds.
Distance runner Elizabeth Powderly, a senior, ran the mile in 5:28.72, which was good for fourth place.
Landry also finished sixth place in the shot put.
Sophomore Rose Muldrew took seventh place in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.77.
Senior Edward Ferreira took eighth place in the long jump.
The Big 400
The Watertown High School wrestling team gave head coach Kevin Russo wins number 400 and 401 on Saturday during a quad meet at Waltham High.
The Raiders defeated Waltham for the big milestone and then defeated Quabbin for one more tally in the “W” column.
