Watertown High School hit the road in a big way for the second football game of the season, and had a successful trip to Rhode Island.
The Raiders defeated host Mt. Pleasant 31-0 on Saturday, with running back Zach Rimsa scoring two first quarter touchdowns, according to the Boston Globe boxscore.
Watertown scores all its points in the first half, with Robert Kennedy and Luis Moradel each running for second quarter touchdowns. Kicker Santino Fieremonte hit a 33-yard field goal in the first quarter and made all four extra points.
The win improves the Raiders’ record to 2-0. Next week, Watertown travels to play Wakefield on Friday night at 7 p.m.
Field Hockey
Watertown’s field hockey team continued to roll this week, collecting two more shut out wins. The Raiders defeated Reading 5-0 on Wednesday at home and Friday Watertown took down Burlington 6-0 in a game also played at Victory Field.
The Raiders improved to 4-0, extended their unbeaten streak to 142 and continued the shut out streak, which now stands at 29.
