The Watertown Community Foundation (WCF) is pleased to announce that we are
accepting applications for two programs: the Healthy Watertown Grants program and the School Program Grants (offered in conjunction with the Watertown Education Foundation).
Healthy Watertown Grants
WCF has $10,000 in available grant money for the Healthy Watertown program. We are looking to support new or existing health focused programs that serve Watertown residents. Examples of programs eligible for Healthy Watertown Grants include:
• Food pantry programs or equipment needs
• Programs/services fostering healthy aging
• Support programs for care-givers
• Nutrition and/or meals programs for seniors
• Programs combating obesity
• Programs designed to help substance abusers become or remain “clean”
• Health-related programs for infants and their families
• Supplies/tools for community gardens
Health programs that serve students in Watertown’s public schools should apply to the School-based grant program.
Healthy Watertown Grant proposals are due: November 1, 2017.

School Program Grants
$35,000 in school program grants is now available. Offered in conjunction with the
Watertown Education Foundation, this program focuses solely on Watertown’s public schools and seeks to support activities that improve instruction and learning.
Applications can be submitted for individual classrooms, grade-level initiatives,
afterschool programs, school-wide efforts, and system-wide plans. Preference will be given to proposals that extend beyond one classroom and enrich the learning
environment. Examples of past support include:
• Supplemental materials or books (e.g., student book clubs, school gardens)
• Equipment (e.g., musical instruments, supplemental lab or engineering
equipment)
• Special events and speakers (e.g., anti-discrimination or drug and alcohol
prevention programs, author-in- residence)
• Student Programs (e.g., college readiness, student newspaper, art and science
afterschool)
• Experimental School or District wide initiatives (e.g., the Buck Institute’s Project- based learning professional development for K-8 teachers, Picture-in- Writing materials and training for all three elementary schools)
School Program Grant proposals are due: November 10, 2017.
