Watertown Youth Lacrosse has started a new program for beginning players to learn to play and have some fun.
The Coaches and Board of Directors of Watertown Boys Youth Lacrosse to announced the start of an informal, fun and free Box Lacrosse program at the Casey Park Outdoor Rink. The program runs on Tuesday nights and is for Watertown boys in grades 2 and up.
“If your son is looking to try the ‘fastest game on 2 feet,’ Box lacrosse is fun way for boys to get introduced to the great game of Lacrosse in a low competitive environment,” said Jay Hughes of Watertown Youth Lacrosse. “For those who currently play, it is a great way to hone those sticks skills and have a blast with your friends!”
The program will be supervised by Jim Helie and Tom Shortt. Both Coach Jim and Coach Tom were recently featured in Scoop Magazine as two of the best lacrosse coaches in Massachusetts.
Here is the schedule for each Tuesday Night Session:
- Boys in Grades 2-6 play from 6-7:30 p.m.
- Boys in Grades 7 and up play from 7:30-9 p.m.
Boys will need a lacrosse stick and need to wear a helmet, gloves, elbow pads and shoulder pads. There will be some extra equipment on site if you need to borrow some for the night. Also, Boys should bring their own mouth piece.
Come on out …check it out…. strap it up…. and have a blast!
