Phillip Pane of Watertown, who dedicated 65 years to the town government and took part in many community groups, died on June 28.
Pane is the beloved husband of the late Edythe (Fairbanks) Pane. Devoted father of Philip A. Pane and wife Janet of Harwich, James A. Pane and wife Linda of Stoughton and Ann Marie Cook and husband Richard of Belmont. Also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Brother of Edith Noyes of Walpole and the late Rose Natale, Aurora and Anthony Pane.
Phil loved the Town of Watertown and was the youngest elected official in the Town. At the age of 21, he began his 65 years of service to Watertown as a member of the Planning Board. He then continued on to serve proudly as a member of the School Committee, Chair of the Board of Selectman, Treasurer, Council Vice President and Town Councilor.
His devotion to the Town of Watertown showed in his many community service activities including Chamber of Commerce, Traffic Commission, Eagle Scout Counselor, Rotary Club and Sons of Italy.
Phil touched the lives of many Watertown youngsters during his 25 years as Little League Coach.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit in The DeVito Funeral Home, 761 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown, on Tuesday 4-8 p.m.; and to a Funeral Service on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in The Church of The Good Shepherd, 9 Russell Ave., Watertown. Interment to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery.
