The Watertown Police and the Recreation Department will host a street hockey league at Casey Park this summer.

The Watertown Police Department will work with the Recreation Department to put on some fun activities for youngsters and families this summer. 

Two free family movie nights will be held behind the Watertown Police Station. Aimed at elementary school students and their families, the events will be held on Friday, July 17 and Sunday, Aug. 9 from 6:30-10 p.m.

The evening begins with games, face painting, pizza, popcorn and refreshments. The movie begins at 8 p.m.

Parking is available in front of the Police Station.

Cops & Rec Street Hockey

On Sundays beginning in July, the police and Recreation Department will host street hockey for girls and boys in grades 2 to 12. The league runs eight weeks from July 12 to Aug. 30 at Casey Park on Watertown Street.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn the rules and fundamentals of street hockey such as stick handling and shooting. There is a maximum of 24 participants per session and registration is on first come first serve basis. All participants must sign up in advance, not at the day of the program.

The fee is $20, and registration is available in person at the Watertown Recreation Department in Town Hall, or online by clicking here.

Schedule:

  • Grade 2-3: Coed 4 p.m.-5 p.m.
  • Grade 4-5: Coed 5 p.m.-6 p.m.
  • Middle School Girls: 6 p.m.-7 p.m.
  • Middle School Boys: 7 p.m.-8 p.m.
  • High School Girls: 8 p.m.-9 p.m.
  • High School Boys: 9 p.m.-10 p.m.
