“Dog Park” by Watertown’s Kian Rice won the Watertown Savings Bank Photo Contest. It will be featured in the bank’s calendar.
Twelve winners have been chosen in Watertown Savings Bank’s (WSB) Annual High School Photo Contest. More than 280 photos were submitted from 130 different students who live or attend high school in: Arlington, Belmont, Lexington, Newton, Waltham, and Watertown.
The winning photographs will appear in WSB’s 2018 calendar, available to bank customers each December. A panel of judges composed of WSB staff selected the winners.
Christine Saroufim’s “Winter Sunset” received an honorable mention in the Watertown Savings Bank Photo Contest.
Watertown High School Junior Kian Rice is the First Place Winner for Watertown Dog Park. This photo will appear with January in the 2018 calendar. Second Place is awarded to Noa Gittelman-Egan for Hummingbird, appearing with June in the calendar. Gittelman-Egan is a junior at Waltham’s Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School. The September photo is School Buses, taken by Iris Tsirkin. She wins Third Place, and is a junior attending Lexington High School.
WHS student Elizabeth Allen will have her shot “Watertown High Basketball” in the Watertown Savings Bank calendar after receiving an honorable mention in the bank’s photo contest.
Honorable Mentions were awarded to nine students, including three Watertown High School students: Elizabeth Allen, sophomore, for her photo Watertown High Basketball, appearing with April; Christine Saroufim for Winter Sunset, appearing with March; and Freshman Martin Tibets for his December photo, Flags during Christmas. Two Waltham High School students: Senior Shawn Coleman for his photo Waltham Black & White, appearing with November; and Sophomore Chloe Morales for her photo Locks of Love, appearing with February.
Martin Tibets of Watertown had his photo, “Flags During Christmas” chosen as an honorable mention in the Watertown Savings Bank photo Contest.
Also receiving honorable mentions: Sophomore Jessalyn Cali from Arlington High School, for Arlington Football Field, appearing with July; Genevieve Wyman, a senior at The Arlington School in Belmont, for Creeping Color, appearing with October; Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall Junior Kaiyuan Luo for Colorful Leaves, appearing with August; and Newton South High School Sophomore Sarah Meyer for her photo Spring Blooms, appearing with May.
