The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
April 10, 12:36 p.m.: An officer monitoring traffic on Waltham Street spotted a speeding vehicle. When the vehicle was pulled over the driver did not have his license on him. Police discovered his license was revoked for being a habitual traffic rules violator. They also found he had an OUI conviction. The 28-year-old Waltham man was arrested for driving with a suspended license for an OUI, driving with a revoked license and he was cited for speeding.
April 10, 6:40 p.m.: Police went to Quimby Street to serve a warrant. They were told the person they were searching for was on Charles Street. The 39-year-old Watertown woman was arrested on a warrant from Woburn District Court for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on a perosn over 60.
April 16, 1:54 a.m.: Watertown Police received a be-on-the-lookout alert for an erratic vehicle coming into town from Cambridge. The vehicle was spotted on Clyde Road. The driver was stopped and police observed an odor of alcohol and saw the driver had glassy eyes. He admitted to consuming alcohol and was unsteady on his feet. He failed field sobriety tests. The 59-year-old Watertown man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, a second offense.
April 17, 11:47 a.m.: An officer at Melendy and Nichols avenues on an unrelated matter spotted a man he knew was wanted on multiple warrants. The 30-year-old Somerville man was arrested on five default warrants out of Waltham District Court and one default warrant out of Brighton District Court.
April 17, 7:06 p.m.: Marshall’s security spotted a woman take numerous items and put them in her purse. She tried to leave without paying but was stopped. She had $296.91 in stolen items including perfume, shoes and clothing. The 47-year-old Boston woman was arrested for larceny over $250.
April 21, 3:50 p.m.: A blue Jeep was seen traveling more than 40 mph in the area of Lexington and Bemis streets. The vehicle was pulled over and police discovered the driver had a suspended license. The 56-year-old Woburn man was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license.
April 22, 3:09 a.m.: Police were informed of an erratic driver and an officer spotted the vehicle on Waverley Avenue. While following, the officer noticed the vehicle had a tail light out and it crossed the double-yellow line. The driver showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested and while being booked police found he had a bag containing a white powder and a straw. The 46-year-old Cambridge man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of a Class B drug and a lights violation.
Incidents
April 13, 1:25 a.m.: An alarm went off in a building on Water Street and some items were knocked off the wall. The owner went inside and did not see anything missing. The building’s surveillance camera footage will be reviewed by police.
April 13, 3 p.m.: The owner of a cleaning company in Watertown reported that $7,000 was missing from the business’ account. Later it was discovered that five checks had been cashed. It appears someone forged the checks. Police are working with the bank to identify suspects.
April 14, 5:45 p.m.: The owner of Perfection Auto Body called police to report he was assaulted by an unhappy customer. A woman came down to pick up her vehicle but was displeased with the work and she hit the owner several times. No injuries were sustained and payment was made. The owner did not want to pursue charges.
April 15, 5:44 p.m: A shoplifter was stopped at Marshall’s when security saw a man leave with multiple items in his hands. He was confronted and was found to have $91.95 in stolen items, including clothing and a baseball hat. The 23-year-old man from Arlington was summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.
April 19, 4 p.m.: The over of a vehicle parked it in front of 55 Waverley Avenue overnight and came back to find that several items were missing and things were thrown around the inside of the vehicle. A Garmin GPS and clothing were taken, but there was no damage to the vehicle. Later, the items were found on a lawn of a home on Westminster Street.
April 20, 9:20 p.m.: A vehicle parked on Norseman Avenue had both of its license plates stolen. It occurred during the day between 8 a.m. and 5:15 p.m..
April 21, 9:08 a.m.: A vehicle parked on Waverley Avenue had eggs thrown at it and one of the front tires was slashed.
