The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Jan. 18: A Quincy Street resident discovered someone took out an American Express card in the person’s name. The Police Department is working to try to get the resident’s money back.
Jan. 18: Target security stopped a man who had taken $152 worth if items, including home goods, beauty products, and apparel. Police discovered the man also had a warrant for his arrest. Carlos Robles, 39, of Chelsea, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting and on the warrant from Boston District Court for shoplifting.
Jan. 21, 9:15 p.m.: Police received a report of a vehicle that was not moving at a traffic light on Pleasant Street and Main Street. They found the vehicle was not moving during the green light when other vehicles honking. Officers woke up the driver. They also spotted alcohol on the front passenger seat and in the center console, including an open container. They had the man do field sobriety tests, but determined he was not impaired. When the asked for his license and registration the man said he did not have a license, and he believed it was suspended because he had not paid parking tickets. When the officer went to the cruiser, he noticed the man moving his. hands around his chest in a suspicious manner. The officer patted down the man and found a firearm which had a large capacity magazine that fit 17 rounds. The firearm was not loaded but they discovered he had ammunition in the vehicle. The man was not licensed to carry a firearm and did not have a Firearms Identification Card to carry ammunition. Police determined the weapon had been stolen from Southfield, Michigan, in 2022. Isaiah Louissaint, 19, Waltham, was arrested for driving with a suspended license, carrying a firearm without a license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, possession of alcohol by a person under 21, possession of an open container in a motor vehicle, possession of ammunition without a FID, and receiving stolen property.
Jan. 22, 12:45 p.m.: A juvenile male took Pokemon cards worth $50, put them in a backpack, and walked out the store.
Jan. 22, 2 p.m.: Four people believed to be involved in organized retail crime took multiple headphones and microphones from Best Buy and left without paying. The combined cost was around $1,500. Police are investigating.
Jan. 25: A Center Street resident found that the vehicle parked in the driveway had been rummaged through, and bags and a backpack were open and items were strewn out. Bank cards, a Bose speaker, and a Mac laptop were stolen. The resident believes the vehicle had been left unlocked.
Jan. 25: Two juveniles from Belmont were caught taking $225 worth of items from Target. They were released into the care of their parents and trespassed from the store.
