See what’s in store for this year’s Merry Mingle, formerly the Whoville Jubilee, at Watertown’s historic Commander’s Mansion. See the list of activities provided by the City of Watertown, below.

There are many activities planned for “The Merry Mingle” hosted at the Commander’s Mansion, located at 440 Talcott Avenue, on December 1, 2024, from 4-8pm!

Free guest parking is available in the East Garage on Kingsbury Ave and a shuttle will be provided by Flett Co.  Handicap parking, ramp entry, and elevator access is available on site.

Indoor activities include:

  • a showcase of Winter Holidays Around the World (grant funded by the Mass Cultural Council)
  • stories read by Watertown Free Public Library
  • a gingerbread craft prepared by Arlene Smith
  • making “River of Light” luminaria with Watertown Public Arts & Cultural Committee sponsored by the Mosesian Center for the Arts
  • Santa’s Village on the second floor (tickets for this zone that include photos with Santa by Natalie Nigito Photography must be purchased in advance at merrymingle.planningpod.com)

Outdoor activities include:

  • a holiday bazaar in the reception tent featuring 18 local vendors selling jewelry, floral designs, home goods, apparel, woodworking, pottery, holiday decor and more!
  • live entertainment on the main stage in the tent (lineup includes WPS All City Chorus & Orchestra at 5:00pm, Legacy Studios dance performance at 5:45pm, and a holiday wreath demo and free raffle with Ernie Berardinelli at 6:30pm)
  • Train rides sponsored by Watertown Savings Bank
  • Whoville characters, holiday displays & light tunnel on the North Lawn
  • Winter Wonderland with a artificial “snowball” fight and foam party with Watertown Recreation and lighting sponsored by Alexandria (ARE)
  • DJ Ryan Murphy on the veranda
  • Jingle Cafe – hot chocolate and sweet treats for sale from Joe’s Variety
  • Toy Chest Drive – earn one raffle ticket from Watertown Veteran Services for every unwrapped toy donated to benefit the Whooley Foundation for a chance to be the Official Cheermeister at the event’s tree lighting ceremony shortly after 7pm
