Watertown Welcomes New Chief Technology Officer

Join City Manager George Proakis in welcoming Maurice A. Myrie as the City of Watertown’s new Chief Technology Officer!

Maurice joins the Watertown team with nearly 12 years of Chief Information/Technology Officer experience (CIO/CTO). Most recently with the Town of Duxbury, Maurice managed the Town’s and school district’s information technology strategies and initiatives as their CTO since October 2022. Prior to that, Maurice was the CIO of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office for nearly 10 years.

Maurice will begin his role as Watertown’s CTO on Monday, October 28, and he will be overseeing the City’s Information Technology (IT) department. His role will include overseeing the City’s IT strategy and providing direction in further developing and maintaining the City’s IT infrastructure and operations.

City Manager George Proakis points to Maurice’s impressive experience as playing a key role in his addition to the Watertown team: “I am very excited to announce Maurice Myrie as our new CTO. Adding Maurice’s extensive experience to lead our IT department will continue to grow one of our most vital and established departments in our City.”

Maruice holds a Master’s of Education in Administration of Higher Education from Suffolk University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Alfred University in New York.
