The snow storm coming through the Boston area could bring another several inches of snow, or more, and has already canceled some events in Watertown.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning from 7 a.m. Sunday to 7 p.m. Monday. WCVB Channel 5’s forecast puts Watertown in the band expected to get 6-12 inches of snow over the two days.
As of 6 p.m., the Watertown Public Schools announced it will close schools on Monday, Feb. 13. Also, all evening activities will be cancelled.
The Mosesian Center for the Arts announced on its Facebook page that Sunday night’s performance of “Brecht on Brecht” has been cancelled. The message says: “If you had tickets to this performance, we will be reaching out to you today to move your seats to another time. Please email our Box Office at tickets@newrep.org”
At 2 p.m., Superintendent of Public Works Gerry Mee declared a snow emergency. Vehicles must not be parked on public streets. Click here for more information and places to park.
The Recreation Department announced that Sunday’s Community Sports and Games Program has been cancelled due to the impending storm.
As of 9:45 a.m. Sunday there was no word about whether the Watertown Public Schools will have class Monday.
