The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
June 14, 1:15 p.m.: The Suburban Middlesex County Drug Task Force, which includes a Watertown detective, had been conducting a narcotics investigation. During the investigation, they observed a man driving on Rosedale Avenue whom they had probable cause to arrest. The man’s car was stopped at Rosedale Avenue near Acton Street. Inside the car, officers observed in plain view a small plastic bag with a white powdery substance that is believed to be fentanyl. During a search of the car, police discovered 11 more bags of what is believed to be fentanyl, and seven more baggies of a substance suspected to be cocaine. The substances will be tested to confirm the contents. Based on the items found in the vehicle, along with information from the investigation, Jeury Anziani, 34, of Boston, was arrested on charges of trafficking in more than 10 grams of fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (cocaine).
June 16, 8:48 a.m.: Police spotted a man they knew was wanted on a warrant. He was seen in the parking lot of Dunkin’ on Mt. Auburn Street in Watertown Square. Toros Thorossian, 58, homeless, was arrested on the default warrant for disorderly conduct and criminal harassment.
June 17, 3:05 a.m.: An officer monitoring traffic on North Beacon Street spotted a vehicle going 42 mph in a 30 mph zone. The vehicle also crossed the double yellow line, and headed westbound in the eastbound lane of North Beacon Street. The officer observed that the drivers had signs of intoxication. She admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving, and did not pass four field sobriety tests. Yaquelin Escobar, 36, of Boston, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and was cited for speeding and operating left of center.
Incidents
June 12, 3:57 p.m.: A Chapman Street resident received a voicemail from the manager of an apartment building in Somerville calling to talk about an online application that was made in the resident’s name. The resident thought it was a scam so she did not return the call. She noticed an inquiry from the company that manages the apartment on her credit report. The same day she got a call from her bank asking if she was attempting to open a new credit card. Bank employees believed it the attempt to open a card was fraudulent so they contacted her. Police believe someone stole her identity. No money was lost, and the credit card application was stopped.
June 12, 7:12 p.m.: The manager of Ulta Beauty reported that four people came into the store, took items, and left without paying. A short time later, Police received a report that four suspects shoplifted at the Nike Store. A 13-year-old male was found near the Residence Inn by Marriott with $479.96 of stolen items. Police recovered the items and contacted the boy’s guardian. He was turned over to the guardian, but neither store sought to press charges.
June 14, 8:09 p.m.: A Perry Street resident noticed her trash bin was missing. She saw it in her driveway at 5:30 a.m. At about 9:30 a.m., she saw a red Volkswagen drive by her home twice, stopping the second time in front of the home. The resident believes the driver took the trash bin. The suspect is described as a white male wearing sunglasses.
June 15, 6:48 p.m.: An employee of Tesla Motors on Pleasant Street parked his moped on June 14. On the 15th at 6:30 p.m. he noticed it was gone. The red Honda Spree cost $650.
June 16, 10:18 a.m.: A man walked into Best Buy and picked up a 50-inch Samsung TV, walked out with it, and drove away in a white Honda. The incident was caught on video, and Police got the license plate. They were able to match the man in the video with the owner of the Honda. The 29-year-old Boston man was summoned to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.
June 16, 12:50 p.m.: A landscaper at the Gore Estate noticed that someone had damaged a frontend loader. He parked it on June 13, and on the 16th he saw the driver’s side window was broken. Two rocks were found inside the cab along with a McDonald’s cup. The engine compartment was also left open. The landscaper also believes someone poured an unknown substance into the diesel tank.
June 18, 4:21 a.m.: An altercation was reported on Boylston Street at School Street. Officers encountered a man who had just been involved in a fight, and had a swollen and bleeding lip. He said he had been at a nightclub in the Seaport in Boston when he was approached by a group of strangers. They got into a verbal dispute. The man got dropped off by a friend in Watertown, and when he got out of the car he was attacked from behind, and was hit in the mouth. The man recognized the four men as the ones from the club. His friend saw the men and confirmed they were the same men. The group got into a grey sedan and drove away. The man did not suffer serious injuries. The suspects are described as Albanian men with dark black hair and one was wearing a trench coat.
June 18, 2:45 p.m.: A woman came into Ulta Beauty and stole $402 in merchandise. The woman was seen on video at 1:15 p.m. walking over to the men’s fragrance section and taking four bottles of cologne. She walked out the door without paying. The suspect is described as a a Black female, 30-40 years old, wearing a black head wrap, a black Adidas jacket, a pink dress, black leggings, white socks, and blue sneakers.
