The discussion for hiring the an interim superintendent for the Watertown Public Schools will continue on Monday, Sept. 29.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the Watertown High School Auditorium.
The School Committee will discuss the qualifications wanted for an interim superintendent to replace Jean Fitzgerald, who is retiring in October. On Sept. 19, the School Committee voted to hire an interim while the district seeks a permanent superintendent. The members also voted to prevent the interim from applying for the full-time position.
On Monday, the School Committee will also review the timeline for hiring the interim superintendent and will announce the screening committee for the interim search.
Also on the agenda will be the appointment of an interim Business Manager. Current Business Manager Charles Kellner is retiring in December, and is also using his accrued vacation before he leaves.
School Committee Chairman John Portz said he wanted to allow the permanent superintendent choose his or her own business manager so he recommended having an interim business head for now.
