The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
July 14, 5:01 a.m.: Police found a person asleep behind the wheel on Galen Street with his hazard lights on. When the officer woke the driver up an odor of alcohol was detected on the driver’s breath. Field sobriety tests were performed and the 27-year-old Quincy man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, a second offense.
July 14, 5:08 p.m.: Police responded to an incident on Lexington Street and found both had outstanding outstanding warrants. A 31-year-old Newton man had four warrants for traffic offenses, and a 22-year-old woman from Watertown was arrested on a warrant for traffic offenses.
July 14, 5:56 p.m.: Target security spotted a man cutting the tags off items from the store and put them in a shopping bag. He took an iPad case and an iPhone, worth a total of $450.60. A 37-year-old homeless man was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250.
July 14, 9:40 p.m.: Police discovered a man had a number of warrants in his name and a fugitive from justice warrant from another state. The 53-year-old man from Dorchester was arrested for one warrant from Dorchester District Court for traffic offenses, one out of Connecticut for forgery and one from Florida for grand theft.
July 16, 11:14 a.m.: A man was spotted by Target security place a 32-inch TV, a Samsung cell phone case and a frisbee into a cart and attempted to leave. A 26-year-old Brighton man was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250.
July 16, 2:15 p.m.: Target security chased a suspected shoplifter out of the store and sent out description. Later, police found a man fitting the description on Chadbourne Terrace. The man had a warrant. The 27-year-old Malden man was arrested on the warrant from Lawrence District Court for traffic offenses and Target is seeking a complaint against the man in court.
July 19, 4:28 p.m.: A 35-year-old Watertown man was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
July 20, 2:47 a.m.: An officer on patrol spotted a man make a sharp left on Dexter Avenue and make a left on Nichols Avenue. The vehicle then went into a parking lot and turned its lights off in an attempt to hide. The driver initially gave a false name. Field sobriety tests were given and a 28-year-old Watertown man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, unlicensed driving, a red light violation, a driver refusing to identify himself, and furnishing a false name.
Incidents
July 14, 8:23 a.m.: Someone threw eggs at the front entrance to Watertown High School.
July 15, 7:15 p.m.: A woman was caught trying to take a camping tent worth $69.43 from Target. The homeless woman was trespassed out of the store.
July 17, 7:23 p.m.: A bicycle was taken from a home on School Street. The bike was left in the yard and when he returned later it was gone. It is a light blue mountain bike with black handle bars.
July 17, 11:11 p.m.: A man left a Honda motorcycle in his front yard in the afternoon and about half an hour later his wife found it was gone.
July 18, 11:01 a.m.: Two packages were stolen from a home on Swetts Court. They were supposed to be delivered on July 17, but the resident never received them.
July 18, 2:53 p.m.: A man ordered 30 gold coins and went to pick up the package at the UPS facility. When he got home he opened the package and it was empty.
