The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
Arrests
Aug. 8, 8 a.m.: Police knew that a man on Edgecliff Road was wanted on a warrant. The 50-year-old Waltham man was arrested on a warrant from Waltham District Court. He was also charged with one count of intimidating a witness and threats to commit a crime.
Aug. 8, 10:15 p.m.: Police did a welfare check on a woman at the Super 8 motel and when they located her and checked her record they found she had five outstanding warrants. The 39-year-old Fairhaven woman was arrested on the warrants: four from New Bedford District Court – one for assault and battery, the second for shoplifting, the third for assault and battery on a person over 60, the fourth for assault and battery on a police officer – and one from Waltham District Court for breaking and entering during the daytime.
Aug. 13, 6 p.m.: The Probation Department contacted the Watertown Police to alert them that an Edgecliff Road resident was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was for the same man arrested a few days earlier. Police arrested the man without incident.
Incidents
Aug. 9, 9 p.m.: A man got off the bus on Mt. Auburn Street at School Street and as he walked across the road in the crosswalk a white VW sedan was driving toward him at a high rate of speed and as the vehicle passed him the man said he “tapped” the hood with his hand. The driver stopped and there was a brief verbal exchange before the man finished crossing the street. He continued down the street and turned onto Boylston Street where he saw the same vehicle. The driver got out and there was another argument. Then the driver pushed the man down and punched him in the face. The man only got a partial license plate – T and P. He sustained minor injuries. The incident is under investigation.
Aug. 11, 11:30 a.m.: A Robert Ford Road resident reported finding her vehicle had damage to the rear tire, a bolt cover was missing and another tire was flat. It occurred sometime between July 20 and Aug. 11.
Aug. 11, 4:20 p.m.: A woman’s laptop was stolen from a locker at the Central Rock Gym. It occurred on the 10th between 5:45 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. The locker was not locked.
Aug. 11, 8:20 p.m.: A Lenovo laptop was taken from a car. The owner said it could have been taken either when she was parked at Target between 7:15 and 7:30 p.m. on the 11th or at Stop & Shop on Watertown Street between 5:45 and 6 p.m. the same day.
Aug. 12, 8:20 p.m.: Target security spotted a man walking around the store and placed first clothing and then other items into a bag. He tried to leave without paying but was stopped by security. The items were worth $143. The 20-year-old Waltham man was summonsed to Waltham District Court on a charge of shoplifting.
Aug. 14, 12:10 p.m.: Three packages were stolen from a home on Standish Road. The recipient confirmed UPS had delivered the packages on Aug. 12 between 6:30 and 10:30 a.m. The boxes contain clothing worth $160.
Aug. 14, 5:15 p.m.: A woman want into Target and took an iPhone case out of its packaging and put it on her phone. She then grabbed a skateboard and tried to skate out of the mall, but was stopped. The 26-year-old woman from Hyde Park was arrested on a charge of shoplifting.
