The man was going door to door trying to sell Mass Pro Steel Coating, but he had not followed proper protocols to check in with the City Clerk’s Office or the Police. June 2, 8:42 p.m.: A minor auto accident occurred at the intersection of Arlington and Belmont streets. When police spoke to the victim, the driver said the two cars were stopped at a red light, and the one in front put the vehicle in reverse. When the light turned green the woman hit the gas and went backward into the vehicle behind her. A minor dent was left in the hood. When officers spoke to the woman who struck the other car she showed signs of impairment including and odor of alcohol, she slurred her words, and was unsteady on her feet. She unsuccessfully tried to perform field sobriety tests. Hakule Holmberg, 26, of Waltham, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and was cited for failing to use care when starting.
June 3, 7:07 p.m.: Two employees got into an argument at the UPS facility. They were yelling profanities at each other, but the dispute was broken up before it became physical. When police spoke to the men, they discovered one had an outstanding warrant. Mario Lopez, 31, of Waltham, was arrested on the warrant from Clinton District Court for traffic offenses.

Incidents
May 30, 4:25 p.m.: A woman reported she had been scammed. She was contacted over Facebook messenger by a person she is somewhat familiar with, who sent a message about a service called Personal Benefit. The message said the service loans money to people as an alternative to going to a bank. She was told to withdraw $2,200 from her bank and deposit into a CoinFlip machine. She did so at a machine in Waltham. A four digit code is required to enter the money. The person gave the code over Facebook. After that she never heard from the person. It appears that someone created a fake account on Facebook using the friend’s name, picture, and information. Police are investigating.
June 1, 6:33 p.m.: A driver filled up at the Watertown Mutual Gas Station on Mt. Auburn Street on May 25 at 8 p.m. The person owed $84.02 and gave a $100 to the employee, who realized it was fake by the way it felt. The driver sped off and turned onto Bigelow Avenue. The person was driving a grey or light brown colored sedan.
June 3, 11:19 a.m.: Someone went into the men’s bathroom at the CVS in Coolidge Square and found a handgun. The person told the manager, who alerted police. Officers and detectives went to the store and examined the handgun, which was loaded with seven rounds of ammunition. Police described it as a ghost gun: a firearm was made with a black polymer that had no serial number or other identifiable marks. The person who found it did not touch the handgun. Police are investigating and reviewing security video to see if they can identify the person who left the gun in the bathroom. The firearm will be tested by the State Police Crime Lab.
June 3, 12:56 p.m.: A Watertown woman received a piece of mail from TD Bank about a checking account in her name. She had not opened an account and discovered it had been opened in Pennsylvania on May 18. Someone had deposited $474 and a payment of $454.62 was made from the account. The woman did not lose any money.
On June 4 residents of several streets found items that had been spray painted, including cars, trees, street signs, and the roadway. The paint was bright green and purple. The streets where the incidents occurred are: Walnut Street, Bailey Road, Bellevue Road, Russell Avenue, Fuller Road, Orchard Street, Lawrence Street, and the 200 and 300 blocks of Mt. Auburn Street. Police are seeking home security camera footage that might show the suspect or suspects. Anyone with information can contact the Watertown Police at 617-972-6500.
