The Watertown Police and the Recreation Department have teamed up to put on the free Cops & Rec Middle School Basketball Program this summer.
Watertown Police officers will be part of the program, including Police Chief Michael Lawn, who will officiate some games.
The first week of this program will consist of clinics, drills and evaluations and then four consistent teams will be selected. There will be a separate league for girls and boys and a schedule of games will be played beginning the following week.
The focus of the program is to provide a fun, positive atmosphere with officials and scorekeepers while the participants play their game. Registration is on a first come first serve basis Limit is 40 participants per league
The program is for girls and boys in grades: 6-8 on Tuesdays May 24-July 5, 2016 (7 week program)
Time: 5:45-6:45 p.m. for girls, 6:45-7:45 for Boys
Where: 552 Main St. behind the Police Station
Fee: No cost:
All participants will receive a reversible mesh tank top.
