The Watertown Fire Department extinguished a fire in a home on Mt. Auburn Street on Saturday.
Shortly after 6 p.m. on Jan. 22, the Fire Department received a report of smoke in a two-family home on Mt. Auburn Street, according to the Watertown Fire Department’s report.
“Companies found a chimney fire that had extended into the wall. The fire was quickly extinguished and the building was ventilated,” said a post on the Watertown Fire Department’s Facebook page.
The blaze caused approximately $25,000 in damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No one was injured during the fire. Deputy Fire Chief Arthur Geswell was the incident commander.
