A man faces drug dealing charges after being caught selling pills from a room at a Watertown motel.
A drug investigation by the Watertown Police and the Suburban Middlesex County Drug Task Force tracked a man wanted on drug charges to the Super 8 Motel in Watertown on April 12 at 4:45 p.m.
Officers suspected the man, Shawn Sturtevant, was suspected of dealing drugs out of his motel room, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor.
“A surveillance team observed two vehicles pull into the parking lot of the Super 8 and the suspect exited the interior and conducted what was believed to be an illegal narcotics sale,” O’Connor said.
Police stopped the vehicles and questioned the drivers.
“One of the parties buying drugs admitted to police he was there and purchased five oxycodone pills,” O’Connor said. “He turned them over to police.”
Later, a third car pulled up beside a car in which Sturtevant was sitting and appeared to be buying drugs, O’Connor said.
Police moved in and arrested Sturtevant, O’Connor said, and when they searched his room they found a large amount of cash, oxycodone pills and other evidence of narcotics distribution.
Sturtevant was arrested on charges of distributing a Class B drug and possession to distribute a Class B drug, O’Connor said.
I’m a Watertown native, Glad to see that WPD are cracking g down and making arrests. The opioid pandemic is overwhelming. I know live on the Cape, where the opioid problem is to the point where 60% of the arrests have to do with opiods in one way or another. It’s just very nice to see the scum who distributes the poison seeing his day in court. Hopefully he gets the everything that’s coming to him.
The scum who distribute poison as you say are Pfizer, Merck, Beyer and all the other pharmaceutical companies that get people hooked on their hard drugs. Then when people are hooked they are forced to find cheaper easier methods which is why Heroin is so rampant here in Watertown and Marlboro and other towns. The real criminals are the drug companies and until people realize that the opioid epidemic and drug addictions are only going to get worse. Don’t be a corporate stooge. But these legitimate drug dealers make so much money for their stockholders that heaven forfend we do anything about them. Oh yeah, they also get the best tax breaks, parking spaces and leave people like you in the dust. So be careful who you call scum, they want you to believe what you believe so you can keep living with blinders on. Careful who you call scum, or at least aim your vitriol toward the proper place….yeah he cooked the Vicodin in at the Super 8 not ABBOTT LABORATORIES, right?
i would like to thank u for saying that my friend would be glad that there are people out there that are not all against him and i read the report and they said on here does not even match what the report says so u are right about those companies plus my friend use to have a life before the 5 back surgeries he has had so thank u for not being like other people on here i say this for him
Great job…Thank you…
good jobs guys keep it up and stay safe
Yeah they’re starting to catch people but for 10 to 15 years they couldn’t even catch their own officer that was in charge of the drug task force selling and doing opiates and also another big opiates but they ended up having two cops working with the drug dealers Watertown PD needs to start looking into their own house that’s where all the opiates that coming from
Still passes through the same hands I can tell you that much.
its to bad that the police and these task fore people dont go after the real crimes like the people selling dope that is killing people but they set some one up with false and untrue statements i know one of those guys whos wife was buying from a guy in watertown and it went on untill the task force told him to have his wife to stop cus theywere going to take that person down .ust be nice to get a heads up from ur cop buddies
Thanks for this. If they had had a room last time I was up, I would have stayed there.
