Charlie Breirtose Watertown sophomore Molly Driscoll was named Div. 3 field hockey athlete of the year by the Boston Globe.
A trio of Watertown Raiders earned All-Scholastic honors from the Boston Globe this fall, including one who was named the athlete of the year.
Only a sophomore, Molly Driscoll, was named the top Div. 3 field hockey player by the Globe in its fall All-Scholastic teams. She helped Watertown win its first State Championship since 2017. Driscoll scored 33 goals and added 29 assists in 2021.

Senior running back Mason Andrade made the Boston Globe’s All-Scholastic team.
Watertown running back Mason Andrade ran for a school-record 1,575 yards in 2021, and made the Globe’s All-Scholastic team. He scored 16 rushing touchdowns, and on the other side of the line of scrimmage he averaged nine tackles a game as a linebacker. In his career at WHS he gained 3,854 all-purpose yards. In his final season he helped the Raiders make the State Tournament and beat Belmont this year. Andrade was also named Middlesex League MVP.
Charlie Breitrose Watertown junior Elizabeth Loftus (10) earned All-Scholastic honors from the Boston Globe.
Junior co-captain Elizabeth Loftus provided solid defense for the undefeated Watertown field hockey team and was named to the Globe’s All-Scholastic team. She scored 15 goals and had 17 assists in 2021, and has 68 points in her three year’s at WHS.

Hanna Bernstein, from Watertown, also made it for Xcountry and ISL (Independent School League) for BB&N.

This article is about Boston Globe All Scholastics. Hanna Bernstein was not a Globe All-Scholastic. She was simply a league all star. Watertown High League All-Stars were not included in this article.
H20Homeowner, yes the article is about Boston Globe’s All-Scholastic teams which not only includes the ALL-Scholastics(kudos to these kids!) but also the honorable mentions and All Star lists(see link to actual article in Globe and lists which the article references). Please forgive me for giving a shout out to all our Watertown students who have achieved some recognition, as my motive was not to take away from those All-Scholastic winners but to add praise those who have made it to All Stars list too(which is also an accomplishment). Great job to all the All-Scholastics Watertown Students and all who have made the All Star list! I’m sure we can agree, kudos to all who made it to The Boston Globe list in one form or the other!
Be nice to Kate. If it wasn’t for her change.org petition (862 signatures) to pressures the trustees of Mt Auburn cemetery to sell land to BBN, we wouldn’t be getting two full size state of the art brand new artificial turf fields to share with BBN. We’d be stuck with only 1 turf field for all of Watertown. We owe her a debt of thanks for helping our athletes get these synthetic turf fields.

Though,No need to defend me, I had nothing to do with the Artificial turf part of BB&N fields as I also signed the petition to request natural turf(against Artificial Turf) as I believe this is a better/healthier option. The original petition was (what I believed) would be natural fields. In the end, there will be more fields for youth to use but please be aware of the downsides of artificial turf(especially for younger kids).
